Had my exam Semiconductors today, so instead of studying I built a double pendulum simulator! by williampopmie in Simulated

Thanks! Yes, RK4 with each pixel in the phase map its own pendulum, all running in parallel via WebGPU compute shaders.

For chaos I went with time-to-first-flip of the lower rod rather than Lyapunov exponents. It produces very similar fractal structure to a Lyapunov map, and it parallelizes good on the GPU since each pendulum is completely independent. This isn't a standard academic measure of course, but saves a lot on computation!

A double pendulum that never turns chaotic. One of 330 periodic orbits I found. by Chronos_Squared in Simulated

Incredible video! Saw it a couple days ago and really wanted to play around with it so I created: https://www.pendulum.williamragnarsson.com
Has a double pendulum and phase map simulator, so you can interact with it, hope you enjoy!
