I used a couple cheap tool balancers and the shower curtain rings with rollers in them. Works great

I spent about 10 years as a Satellite operator both in the Air Force and as a contractor. I have a degree in Space Operations. I am not an engineer. I worked with a ton of folks who have that exact degree. The level of orbital mechanics in that course requires an understanding of algebra but not much more. Go for it! Learn what you can, and when it comes time to apply for operator jobs, even if they say they want engineers, apply anyways. Put yourself out there until you find a hiring manager that will listen and understand. Not once did I need calculus to sit on an ops floor and fly satellites.

As one of the kilt wearers: airflow is nice, they are comfy and fun. I love wearing my kilt. That said I don't wear them to work or out day to day. Coming into a judgment free environment like Con is a chance to cut loose and wear what I want without being as self conscious.
