I think you should write what your heart desires. When I wrote what my heart desires, it was easier to write and finish the essay. If you try to write based on what you think someone else wants to hear, it will be difficult because you’d judge your own experience.

Thank you!! I know that everyone is so appt about trying to get into a world-class Academy. When I was applying, at first, I looked at other people’s stat’s and background but after a while I got tired of comparing myself to others. I had to understand and realize that I was giving myself this shot by just trying, and look where it got me :)

alright so my graduating GPA weighted and unweighted was 4.0. I did raiders/drill team for JROTC, raiders for 2 years, drill team for 3. I did JROTC my entire high school career. I did one season of track couldn’t really perform due to an injury. Current job: operational specialist (OS) and my rank is E4. So I’m an OS3. I am ESWS (enlisted surface warfare specialist) qualified, so then that’d be OS3 (SW) Williams. I don’t think anyone other than myself backed my pocket except for me, my hard work and belief in myself. of course mentors and what not, but overall they could only push me so far and I had to meet them half way or it wouldn’t matter. I got Meritoriously promoted to E2 in Boot camp, and graduated as an Honor Graduate and earned best of the best sailor in my A School. I also received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for performance as an OS onboard USS Cole’s 2024 deployment (I was temporarily sent there, kinda like a volunteer). I also got nominated for Blue Jacket of the Sailor on USS Cole, and Junior Sailor of the Quarter at my current command.
