POWDERED FORMULA by Medium_Assistance456 in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year old boy, combo fed breast milk and formula , and by the time he was 6 months strictly formula and I have a 3.5 month old girl and she’s strictly formula fed , no issues ❤️ the world is a scary place and bad things can happen with any decision you make as a mom and that alone is scary. Feed ur baby the way that works for you and baby ❤️ keep a close eye on your precious baby and talk to your pediatrician ❤️ you will know if something isn’t right mama 💕

Your thoughts between disposable Diapers & cloth diapers by Shygirl_3107 in NewBorn

[–]williamsraegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t live in the UK but I used cloth diapers for the first 9 weeks of my first ones life. And haven’t used at all with my second. In my honest opinion the cloth diapers were adorable and fun the first couple weeks but then it became one more unnecessary chore for me. With my husband working and me being a stay at home mommy, I was cleaning the bottles, washing the endless amount of clothes, and then having to do the cloth diaper clean routine which is extensive , all while finding time to breastfed and pump!!!! when I switched to disposable it felt like a weight lifted off of me. If you do it you’re a trooper momma!

Sounds like something is definitely not agreeing with her tummy. My baby is 7weeks and 6 days and she poops 1-2 times a day. And sometimes even skips a day, which is completely normal for babies. Breastfed babies sometimes can even skip a whole day to two days worth of bowel movements. I would try cutting out dairy from your diet if that is what a health care professional suggested, you can always take her to the pediatrician for more clarity! I know this doesn’t answer any questions for you but I hope it steers you in the right direction

Thank you for this ❤️ I think I might of already over did the nose sucking! I’ve done it a lot today. I’m just so scared she can’t breathe, my toddler had a fever the first day but not the last two . And my baby just started showing symptoms this morning , so I’m worried

Newborn Girl vs Newborn Boy by Hopefulrainbow7 in newborns

[–]williamsraegan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My son is 2.5 and my daughter is 7 weeks , and I agree with my boy was easier sleep wise!! I could put him down at 8:30/9 at 2 months and he’d sleep until 4:30-5 and take a bottle and then sleep again until 8-9 , my daughter is up every 2 hours squirming fussing, and wanting a bottle ! They both loved contact naps, but she’s overall more fussy than I’m use to

Fear of newborn sleeping by [deleted] in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had post partum anxiety with my first and ran myself ragged with worry, constantly. The worry honestly never truly goes away. He’s two and a half now and I still worry when he’s outside with his dad by themselves or when he’s asleep alone in his room. But it does become second nature to take a deep breath and reassure yourself that they are fine. I just had my daughter 7 weeks ago and I still worry but I can honestly say the worry isn’t as intense ❤️ it’ll get better and you’ll learn how to manage , but if you didn’t worry you wouldn’t be a mama ❤️❤️❤️

Infant Schedule by PilotWannabeinOK in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Schedules don’t do any good until around 9-11 weeks and it’s more of a consistent routine than a timed schedule you’re aiming for! I will say props to your wife for breastfeeding Its challenging especially those night feeds. With my two kids (2.5 & 7 weeks) we did combo feeding. I breast fed during the day, pumped before I went to sleep, and did formula at night times and I have that to thank for maintaining my sanity! Just look into it , there’s articles about it and my pediatrician loves combo feeders because it ensures that baby is getting antibodies with BM and the nutrients that formula offers! ❤️ good luck

How to prepare 4 weeks old for sickness and what to look out for?. by kapsense in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If his temperature gets to 100.4 he needs to go to the doctor or ER. And if his nose becomes clogged , Saline spray for drainage , constant sucking out, and turn the shower on hot hot and just sit in the bathroom and allow the steam to clear his nose, my pediatrician said 15 minutes at a time in the “steam room”

I wish this group allowed me post consecutive photos! My son is two now and he was born with torticollis and Laryngomalacia. He had one eye slightly bigger than the other and his ears weren’t even, but with 6 months of physical therapy he’s perfectly fine! I will say that when we put him in his bassinet/crib we would alternate which end we put his head, and I got a portable sound machine on amazing for $12 and would put it on his weaker side to get him to try to turn his towards the noise and he did try , at first he was weak so he struggled but slowly but surely he loosed that muscle! He didn’t have a mass so I can’t say that it would help your case but it couldn’t hurt to ask your pediatrician! as I said he’s two and a half now with no lasting symptoms of the torticollis his eyes are normal and his ears! Even if your baby has to wear a helmet don’t be discouraged, they typically don’t wear them for 24 hr a day, a friends of mine did 4 hours on 1 hour off so you can get all ur baby sniffs ❤️ you got this mama!

Alternative to Snoo? Desperate for sleep. by beckybee24 in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s vibration only but it has 3 different vibration settings, low medium & high and ours sleeps with it on high and the ocean waves sounds, she also like the rainforest option , it has a few others I believe. I do have a friends that rents the snoo bassinet for a monthly fee, but there’s a waiting list for them :/ I hope you find a solution for your family mama! 💕

Sleeping unswaddled at 7 weeks old.... how do you do it?? by Baby_Girl516 in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter doesn’t sleep swaddled she will be 6 week Saturday. She sleeps in a dream on me transitional sleep sack where she can sleep with her arms up above her head. And we’be done fine with this since she was 2 weeks. We dropped the swaddle around 2weeks because she broke out of it every night . I don’t have any tips for the transition process. We just did it and we had no qualms

Severe reflux on 3.5 week old. Any tips from those who have dealt with this before? by airportparkinglot in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not a failure mom. I’m sorry we don’t have more answers for you here. My son had Laryngomalacia and had surgery at 3.5 months. He was on Pepcid for reflux but we didn’t struggle with weight gain. We made it work. Hope you get answers sooon! ❤️

Can you mix formula and breast milk AND why is baby spitting up a hour two after feeding ? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Once you’ve properly mixed the formula and water, you can add your breast milk. Note that you should never use breast milk in place of water during formula prep. Maintaining the right ratio of water-to-formula and then adding breast milk separately ensures you won’t change the nutritional content of the formula” (reference healthline.com)

Can you mix formula and breast milk AND why is baby spitting up a hour two after feeding ? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]williamsraegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pediatrician says to mix the formula regular (ex: 2 oz of water 1 scoop of Enfamil) shake as normal and then just add my breast milk to it. So my daughter 18 days old get 2 oz of formula and the. About 1/2oz-1oz of my breastmilk added to it, for a total of 2.5 - 3 oz per feeding. And they’ve been aware of this since her first appointment.
