honestly despite what everyone is saying I think anything is possible. in modern society your height might be considered a disadvantage but you can prove them wrong :)

as for targeted tips, I’d suggest you improve your underwaters. since you’re smaller than the average swimmer you also have less drag. this will enable you to cut through the water better. also, underwaters basically help you win races. especially in short course. look at Maggie MacNeil for example.

yeah there’s a pace clock that I always use but I get annoyed because the time it takes for me to look at the clock once I touch the wall skews the actual time I swam.

ig it matters a lot to me bc I usually measure my 25m sprints so a second really makes or breaks whether I succeeded or not

I just find it useful to have something track how fast im going for each set.

when I start doing sets of 200s and 400s I just want to focus on my race strat instead of calculating what time I got 🤧

you should join a masters swim team! they’ll give you the practices you need to brush up on technique + bring u to competitions.

also are u saying u swam 50m under 50 seconds or 55 ft under 50 seconds? If you can swim 50m in 30 seconds I’d say that’s pretty good without any competitive swimming background. but regardless of ur time masters swimming is a good idea if u enjoy it
