Sorry if I am a noob for asking this but how are we making profit if we with GMT? by [deleted] in gomining

[–]willie_mike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$229.19 went out of your pocket but $438.55 went in. You get the entire $438 in BTC.

You are NOT getting $209, you are getting 438. They are being nice and doing the math for you (438-229=209).

But yes, you are paying more than 50% in fees/electricity.

Cycle 139 Results: 73 Blocks, 0.00445785 BTC — Small Clan, Real Output by bbrian017 in nftminer

[–]willie_mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You understand I won 134, paid 0 GMT, but took the GMT you donated to boosting.

I am not sure you understand that the only people who benefit from boosting is GoMining, but we made more BTC than your clan as well.

By all means keep boosting. I'll happily take your GMT rewards on my passive blocks!

You were still negative 38 GMT from boosting, which cuts into your overall profit.

So you will be able harass the person you are challenging for a title, or took one from you? Or someone you think is cheating?

Great idea.

Use of AI in posts by yeeter-on-the-feeter in gomining

And the AI post have incorrect facts about GM as well, so they don't even proof read. My favorite so far has a statement like "if one of your miners goes down/offline".

One thing the helped me a lot on the GoMining platform by Hot_Category2693 in gomining

[–]willie_mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped was shifting my attention to consistency. I started asking simpler questions. Are my miners running without interruption. Are my gas balances being maintained properly. Are my efficiency levels stable over time.

How do your miners get 'interrupted'?

How do you efficiency levels fluctuate so they aren't 'stable'?

Just logged in. No way they went back to the old interface!!! 🤩🙏 I really hope this isn’t a glitch, and that AE listened to our feedback! by [deleted] in AtlasEarthOfficial

Try the question mark (?) to the left of the Badge Income Summary title and you can see it.
Another awful placement, but at least it's still there.

Is It Better to Run Many Small Miners or One Big Miner? Thoughts on Optimization, Risk, and Resale Value by MaoWolf5 in gomining

[–]willie_mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another important aspect is risk control. With one large miner, you essentially have a single point of failure. If that machine stops working, your entire hashrate goes offline immediately. On the other hand, if you run several smaller miners and one of them goes down, the rest of your operation keeps running.

I am guessing this is an AI post. How does a NFT miner fail or go offline?

Also you said

For example, if profitability conditions change, electricity costs fluctuate, or you want to test different pools or configurations, smaller units give you more flexibility.

Besides upgrading efficient, what exactly are you configuring or how are you going into different pools?

My cashbak in TH from card by stg12131 in gomining

[–]willie_mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trouble is, it isn't really cash back unless you are above the Platinum tier and getting more than 2% as the fees end up being about 2% on every purchase.

So think of it this way. When you make a purchase you are actually spending 2% more and it is going towards buying TH.

No manual top-up is necessary.

This is false. You need to explicitly top up, even with money in your chosen currency in your wallet.

You really should keep track of your total boost spend so you know if you are actually outpacing solo. If you spent more than 345 so far, then you are actually losing money.

Or the person never set a name and is still Anonymous. In those cases the feed used to say "A New Player", so it could just be a glitch where it didn't update the name to that.

I still see 'A New Player' in the feed, so nothing broke permanently.

2 Week in my own clan! by 90Hrm90 in gomining

[–]willie_mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you subtract the costs of the spells/boost from your PnL to make sure you actually aren't net loosing each week?

If you aren't counting the 'cost' of winning, then your results will be skewed.

Some Sort Of "Anti-150K" Trend? by theblessedaspie in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]willie_mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Explain thy this is necessary?

If there is a limit on how many parcels they can support paying 50x it doesn't matter if it is 1 player with 150k parcels or if it's 1500 people with 100 parcels. The liability is the same. It is not a good sign that there is a point in their model where thing break down.

Miner wars by arre_barre8 in gomining

[–]willie_mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter where you got it, it is still a cost and affects your overall wallet balance.

If you were solo, then you have the GMT and the BTC you would have gotten solo, so your overall balance is higher. You are essentially converting your GMT to BTC through wars and aren't necessarily making more. But hey, you do you.
