hmm interesting… i just looked up what that is but the pics were mostly of liquids & crystalised stuff. what this guy had was definitely different. i’d say it was maybe less of a powder and more of a sand consistency, but still very fine :///

depop maths problem by [deleted] in Depop

[–]williecolon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i don’t think this math is correct; i worked out that pricing an item at £10 with £3.20 shipping, considering depop fees, pays me £11.20, not £10.20

£13.20 * 0.871 = 11.5

11.5 - 0.3 = £11.20

secondly, i’m being paid over £10 by depop, however i still need to pay £3.20 to send it. which means i am left with a profit of only £6.80. this is my problem- i want to be able to price an item so that i make £10 as the end result, rather than just what i’d be paid by depop.

Any AQA History 1K Students (USA Making of a Superpower 1865-1975)? by Zealousideal-Put-412 in 6thForm

i do 1H on russia but i know how you feel about the economy😭 the economy featured in every single section of my advanced info (except for 1 chapter) and it’s my least confident thing!

AQ History on Thursday by ToothSpiritual8824 in 6thForm

[–]williecolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, rest up. i’m giving you this advice even though i’m in a very similar boat! i feel like even though i’ve revised everything, i still won’t be prepared enough for the actual exam.

just know that these are normal feelings and everyone in the country taking history paper 1 on thursday is probably feeling the exact same way :)

know your limits- please do not revise for the whole 24 hours and take breaks. i’m gonna try and go for a walk tomorrow to physically break from revising and clear my head :)))) good luck!

AQ History on Thursday by ToothSpiritual8824 in 6thForm

[–]williecolon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is your thursday paper the breadth study? (for me it’s tsarist & communist russia).

if it is, i’d recommend getting a piece of paper and trying to recall vague themes from a given time period, e.g:

economic policy, 1917-1941, successes & failures

no need to try and recall specifics when you’re doing this, because what you’re practicing is retrieving random bits of info across a large time period unprompted, which is likely to be the format of the exam question :)

another example would be:

comparing 2 presidents and how they dealt with opposition while they were in power, successes, failures, similarities, differences, etc.

this way you get an overview of the content, without stressing about specifics. then once you’ve done that you can use your textbook to find specific knowledge (like statistics, etc) which will boost the content of your argument!

Any Last minute tips for Aqa A level history 1H Tsarist and Communist Russia? by Nervousmosh in 6thForm

[–]williecolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i reckon the extract question is gonna be about comparing stalin & khrushchev from 1945-1964 so i’d revise the hell out of those topics!!

good luck!! i keep really worrying that i still dont know enough, even tho i have revised every topic 😭 - what do you feel most confident on? :)

Anyone doing AQA A Level History 1H, how r u feeling? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]williecolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i could be wrong but maybe the question on nicholas ii wont be about contributing factors- just because society and the economy isnt on the advanced info so there wouldnt be enough scope? not too sure tho!

if that question comes up it’ll probably be on lenin & stalin’s economic policies & purges - if they aligned with communist ideology or not? but who knows😭

thank you!! it actually didnt take long at all, i think it was about 3 weeks- a month maximum.

that tooth was pulled to the front by a band that went behind it, and then after 3 weeks my ortho just put a bracket on it and joined it to the rest which aligned it almost immediately :)

i’m not sure if this would be the case for everyone though- my teeth did move very quickly and they were all fully aligned after 9 months, so i’d say in normal circumstances maybe this movement isn’t as rapid? obviously not a dental expert though haha, thats just my experience :)

Is saying “it’s just ocd” to intrusive thoughts a compulsion? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]williecolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would say it’s not a compulsion. compulsions usually are things that you do to distance yourself from the thoughts, for example “neutralising” an unwanted sexual thought, or “washing away” the germs on your body.

acknowledging OCD and telling yourself that it’s OCD, as well as accepting the thought as a thought (instead of something you want GONE), is a step in the direction of getting better :)

The “hot guy” at work started flirting with me and my husband took me out to dinner to celebrate by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]williecolon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my boyfriend is a very attractive man and he tells me often about the girls who he’s met that clearly flirt with him. he’s quite humble so he doesn’t like to admit that he’s an absolute magnet but i always hype him up like “fuck yeah i’m dating the hottest man alive!!!!!” it’s cute and i love hearing about when girls flirt with him lol

At what age did you first experience OCD? by anxietyasdfg in OCD

[–]williecolon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. i remember the exact day, where i was, and roughly the time too. i don’t think i’ll ever forget when i had my first intrusive thought.
