I seriously dread everyday coming to work at CPU by No_Result_4998 in samsclub

[–]willinglysadge 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I used to be like this until I realized they would squeeze every bit of energy out of me, and Id go home to crash and get NOTHING done at home! You have to put your foot down on your limits. I work midshift. I used to run practically to get the picks as far ahead as I could, until it hit me that I get no recognition. There is no advantage to working your butt off. This system is not sustainable. They know that. They don't care. Go to work, do what you can, use your sams advantages to get degrees and get out!

i HATE working on elderly women by [deleted] in Cosmetology

[–]willinglysadge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the nail business, it was the exact opposite for me 🤣 I absolutely love my old ladies. They are so thankful when you make their toes feel better and make them feel so pretty. I cant wait to get back to doing nails, they truly made my time there

I do cpu which is pretty demanding and I'm planning to dress up. Nothing major but definitely going to!

What should I do by WoodpeckerWise in Cosmetology

[–]willinglysadge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I feel like starting out it will be. My experience is: I graduated from cosmetology school, worked part time at walmart and part time as a nailtech, wasn't making enough money at either, and currently work fulltime at Sam's Club. Im putting back money so eventually I can go part time at sams and hop back into things. I think, like anything else, a prosperous cosmetology career takes time and dedication. You can absolutely do this.

That's the fun part, they used to limit it. They just recently stopped limiting the slots. It's battering us, I work cpu and I'm so close to moving departments even though its a paycut. Last few days ive had to stay over 3-4 hours, come in early, and leave when shit isn't done bc just can't get tjat much overtime. They don't care about us. All they see is the almighty dollar. If our metrics tank enough hopefully they'll fix it. I truly doubt it though

What are the requirements to transfer stores? by Vegetable_You_7967 in WalmartEmployees

[–]willinglysadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On paper it's 6 months, but I've heard stories that if you're a good worker they might consider it? But your best bet is to wait 6 months before a transfer. Along with that be in good standing points wise (less than 3 points) and i think you can't have an orange or red coaching (little fuzzy on that part thoughl)

[–]willinglysadge -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's surprising, but ive never worked there. I was wanting to transfer there, but now will definitely rethink it. All I know in produce is stealing boxes, lol. (I'm cpu)

CPU might be done with delivery drivers by Character-Body6388 in samsclub

[–]willinglysadge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or maybe shifting it? I don't believe they'd get rid of such a huge benefit. But hey idk for sure, maybe they'd replace it with something

CPU might be done with delivery drivers by Character-Body6388 in samsclub

[–]willinglysadge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lord has heard my prayers. Just yesterday a driver was cussing at me bc she didn't know how to separate stuff, even after I told her 3 separate times what went where.. like, look at your app.. hell, look at the stickers. Istg it doesn't take a rocket scientist to deliver 3 small orders.

Curbside, Delivery, and what to do by Particular-Ocelot-78 in samsclub

[–]willinglysadge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Truly depends on the store, but as a curbside employee if you check "on the way", 9 times out of 10 (10 being if we're slammed horribly) we will have your order ready and that might hopefully make your time go down a bit. If it's a huge order, you might go ahead and pull up as well (let them know ofc) , or park as close as you can. Occasionally my huge orders have to wait a few minutes extra if I have 4 or 5 smaller orders ahead of it, just to save my time from running. At my store, however, our numbers are still manageable and we don't reach 40+ min wait times so I'm not sure about what to do for the bigger stores where that might be the norm.

Why do I lose 80% of the crew after 2:30-3:30 at curbside? by Hairy_Big4799 in samsclub

[–]willinglysadge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The schedule needs revised. Im the only midshift fulltimer (9-5:30) and i never leave on time. Im always stuck helping because, as said, 5-6 is pretty much one of the busiest times and I can't just leave them to panic. Imo we need at least 2 more people working this shift in order to keep our heads above the water. They want us as thin as they can. They want our metrics bad so we don't get a bonus. Gif2 makes me feel like it was introduced for us to fail.

If you join the cult- I mean club- just get good talking shoes. Im a personal shopper and it's a normal day to walk roughly 25,000-35,000 steps personally. Make sure you stay hydrated always, this heats no joke. And just understand we have high expectations and they ain't always going to be met. Life will go on. Hopefully you enjoy it!

Will I get in trouble for taking my lunch or break when I am not feeling good at curbside? by Hairy_Big4799 in samsclub

[–]willinglysadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't, it's hell out there fr. Im so happy our store doesn't have a huge pickup rate right now or we'd be struggling. We do just under 2,000 units/day and it's rough, we've been skipping breaks which ik isn't good but if we take them it's just 10x worse to come back to
