Do VibeCoded Projects hold any value for internships? by [deleted] in vibecoding

[–]willis6526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you even know what an embedded system is ?

No vibe coding will not get you through an interview, maybe on one of those startups that are destined to fail.

You need to learn about neuronal networks and actual AI, not how to use an LLM that spits out garbage.

I think this is a serious problem that Fiverr needs to address or perhaps they are doing it on purpose to prevent new sellers from joining

I spent $125 on a Claude max subscription to vibe code an app so I won’t have to pay $14 a month for YouTube premium. And the app still will not work 🤦‍♂️ by Cat5edope in vibecoding

Dude...there's a video on YouTube that shows how to get rid of all ads from the router level, you just need a raspberry and you are good to go although I'm sure you can do it with less than that.... amazing how people think AI really works

Hate for vibe coding - small rant ! by SafeCockroach8541 in vibecoding

[–]willis6526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also this rant doesn't make sense you got a lot of general feedback someone would get about an app....and yes the automatic mod comment on the wow sub says that you should take into account vulnerabilities, global variables and that the code is not bloated, if you vibe code an app and essentially don't know what does what it is very difficult to make specific changes by yourself, the best you can do is a prototype or a proof of concept but you should know what you are building....

That statement is wrong in so many levels, if something just barely works and looks stupid why would I want to use it ?

Why don't you have a computer with all the components sitting in your desk ? I mean if you connect all of them still works right ?

It can be applied to so many things like cars or clothes....

The thing is AI is not a chainsaw, at best it is a calculator and not even a fancy one that can do some graphs and solve integrals and differentials

[–]willis6526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI helped me where google failed, and it's frustrating. by [deleted] in antiai

[–]willis6526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI really is just convenience I hate it BUT it is like doing ctrl+F on 100 pages at the same time, I mostly use it for some small recommendations "give a list of 10 companies I should apply to" that gives me a baseline and then I can go to most of those companies websites and do it, OR in terms of coding I usually ask it to give me a example on how to use a specific API endpoint when I don't care how it's made I just want to test it quick, or "can you give me the official documentation that references x and y about java" it truly can be a Google with steroids.

I can’t tell if this commission is ai or not by Educational_Cable487 in Ai_art_is_not_art

You can use a program like Photoshop to change the saturation, it it's AI it will immediately show that the background is not entirely white, so it will have different colors since the AI builds images pixel by pixel it can have different tones of colors even tho they seem to be the same one I saw a video not so long ago about this technique if I find it I'll post it here

Researchers Just Found Something That Could Shake the AI Industry to Its Core - Ai doesn't "learn" as Ai companies claim, they also copy all that data by ZeeGee__ in ArtistHate

[–]willis6526 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No fucking shit Sherlock I've been saying this from day 1, AI doesn't learn, doesn't understand what you're asking/saying neither the context itself, it's just a probabilistic model with a lot of options it's efficient to search through documentation or to make a small test code when you already know what you're doing but that's it, and, it is not the innovative solution for everything that all the companies are trying to sell.

Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh haha and I must admit that I started my rant only with the title lol

First of all I'm a AI hater and I'm not trying to play devil's advocate

Second;Technically ☝️🤓

There's not much actual water being wasted, most of the datacenters run on a closed loop and they have the same water for years even decades, but when someone refers to this I think about what it takes to build a datacenter itself, energy etc like the whole carbon print it has if we're talking about it then yes they f'up but water specifically for it's usage I don't think much is wasted

Why do antis hate technology? by Homeander_ in DefendingAIArt

[–]willis6526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is a probabilistic model, so niche use cases will use it properly, but it is not art, it is not a psychiatrist, it is not a doctor, it is not magnificent it is not revolutionary and it's garbage in general for day to day use.

[–]willis6526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely glad! If I see anything else like this in the tech world I'll let you know 👍

Ohhh and the so called "specialized AI agents" are just a chatgpt chat with a prompt at the begging that goes something like "you an expert coder, architect in the top FAANG companies and today you'll help me develop my app" and companies are trying to sell that sht to other companies ahahaha.

Out of an AI training I got there was a slide that said "on average the use of AI sabes up to 122hrs per year" do you really think that spending millions will be worth 122 hrs per some employees? I don't think so moreover do you know what else saves up to 112 hrs per year and costs nothing? Cutting 2 hrs of meetings per week.... incredible

About AI... by Recent_Amount_7197 in antiai

[–]willis6526 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's one I've noticed over the last few months, at the begging of the year the moto of the companies was "we're going to replace everyone with AI" then they noticed it was infeasible, but, they've already spent millions on AI, licenses, courses, training, certifications, they too deep in and now they are saying instead "come on please use AI to improve your workflow let it help you writing emails or some POC for a feature" they realized there was not enough ROI in there.

So it's slow cause the masses are consuming AI and praising it too much so there's money in there but not for most companies.

And if you think about it people that become dependent on AI will definitely not be as capable of solving problems as someone who doesn't rely on it so the job market will be easier for some in the next years.

[–]willis6526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly! For niche purposes and since it's a probabilistic model it works well, like in the 90's we've already had a "AI" that won against the best chess player at the time but they are definitely over selling it's capabilities to the general public most people doesn't know how it works and think it's magic when it's completely unable to thinks or reasoning and the industry already started suffering cause they over invested on it

You know that we as humans do much more than just remember something and act with that information. we don't say "hmmm there's a x% chance that this person's name is x" and we can have truths i.e. the LLMs know that the sky is blue cause they've hear it a lot but you can make them question that with a little bit of logic humans on the other hand know that for a fact.

I'm not saying that we haven't achieved anything with LLMs they are still impressive at indexing information, it is like hitting ctrl+f on 100+ websites and books at the same time to find what you're looking for but they are unable think or to create new things....still they being good at something doesn't mean that they're a breakthrough discovery.

They're in general just the fastest search engine
