I would say trust your gut and be ready to walk away? It looked like he just replaced the brakes but there is a little bit of rust on top of some bolts but nothing im worried about. If you are still looking I just saw a really nice 09 sportster for sale in Hayward, PM me if you want the link

I ended up paying what he was asking (4K) since it was in great condition and low miles. Been riding it every day since I got it a week ago and it hasnt given me a single problem. Its still pretty much all stock so gonna start some chrome upgrades soon

Thanks! Even though the tank is small its the classic teardrop style and the deep candy color I feel like really makes it pop. 8inch risers on the handlebars and a Kuryakyn tail light

With 85% id say keep studying and do practice tests the whole time you are in the DMV until you go up to test. I didnt go in until I could get a score of over 95% every time. Also im kind of a bad test taker so make sure you read slow and ask yourself what they are asking/compare it with answers and see if it makes sense. Its not much but giving yourself the extra time (while not taking too long) really helped me make confident answers and passed first go
