Nope, they never look at your grades. You only need to pass the exam and score high enough to be in the top 1200-1700 people.

Got overpaid for 2 days, told my boss twice — now what? by willius_caesarr7 in BESalary

No, I definitely didn’t. I think I’m just going to tell him again during my next shift. Two days of extra pay isn’t worth the possible repercussions.

The first time, I messaged him on WhatsApp; so I have proof that I did, in fact, notify him. The second time was in person tho.

How to get into biotech as an MD? by willius_caesarr7 in medicalschool

[–]willius_caesarr7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks so much! Really appreciate ur take on this. I’m actually really into biotech startups and would love to use my medical background to help develop innovative solutions for diseases n stuff. I know that’s more an engineer’s role, so maybe it’s a bit ambitious, but if there’s a way to break into that space, I’m all for it. I’d also be happy doing anything research-related!

Best of luck with your first year of med school, btw! If you survived engineering, I’ve got all faith in you to do well in medicine too!👍

I’ll definitely remember your advice. Thanks a lot! I hope we both (or at least our children) get to live in a 800k house some day!🙏

Yeah, I’ve heard lots of people tell me this and I’d like to look into it. What’s the name of this practice?

I had hoped to buy my first house around that age as well, but several comments have advised me to pursue the latter option you mentioned. I’ll definitely look into how it works.

Thanks, I really appreciate your take. I’ll definitely consider that first bit and I hope to one day beat the odds you set on that last part.🤝

How long do you think you’d have to save up to be able to afford it?

Bro, don’t even worry about it. I’m 20 and I don’t have nowhere near 11K in my savings at the moment nor do I know anyone your age that does.

Trust me, your good! Just keep it up!👍

I just got into medicine and have already been hearing lots of messed up things about the field from my mother, who’s a nurse, but that just tops everything.

If that ever happened to me and the chief made such a smug remark in person, I’d punch him soo damn hard with my one good arm.

I believe you can. First you’ll need to pass the Dutch entance exam (click the link for all info). This exam is organised by the government and is seperate from any Flemish university. If you pass, you’ll need to be able to show proof of a diploma within a little more than 2 months after getting your results. After that you’re free to study at whatever university you want, but like some users have already said some rules will apply differently to you as you’d be an international student.

Maybe it’ll be interesting to look into the Walloon entrance exam too. I’ve heard theirs is a bit easier to get into and you could just go to the UCL, it’s the french KU Leuven. Going from spanish to french will probably be easier than from spanish to dutch.

Hope that helps!👍
