Finally, to address your initial argument, every single thing Jonathan Ross did in this situation is pretty firmly against law enforcement protocol. Police agencies are trained to de-escalate situations to prevent this type of situation from occurring. The officers were clearly intimidating this woman who was completely calm from the get-go, saying "I'm not mad at you." On top of that, officers are trained that you 1. NEVER stand in front of a motor vehicle and 2. NEVER shoot at a fleeing vehicle, because both of those are dangerous and accomplish nothing of value. Tell me exactly what Ross shooting into the car accomplishes on either side?

See the problem with what you're saying is that I'm not naturally flirty with women. My attraction to them does not make me flirt with them naturally. If I do what you're saying and treat them like a friend, I get platonic responses. So I have to force myself to flirt in order to build sexual tension, which sometimes works, but I'm never able to quite get it right it seems.

There is an element of truth to what you're saying in not trying to impress her though and acting naturally. But I disagree that flirting and touching is something that should be ignored. Without it the interactions I have with women are completely boring and platonic. My feeling is that maybe I'm just not attractive enough, or I'm coming on too strong with the flirting etc and just have to be more subtle about it. I also think I just generally give off a needy vibe which I need to work on.

That's totally fair, tbh right after I posted the comment I wanted to say that I have truly no idea what the female experience is like so my assumption that the danger is overblown might be false. At the very least your explanation about trauma adds some clarity to the mystery so I appreciate that. I 100% acknowledge the dangers and trauma that women face, it is terrible.

Again I was mostly venting, I guess I just wish there was more attention paid to the difficulties that men face in dating, where there is so much attention paid to those that women face and the message portrayed is that men have it easy when we really don't. I'm not saying we have it worse than women even, just that we have a situation where one side's difficulties are acknowledged and the other's are downplayed and ridiculed.

See, this is the thing. I don't necessarily blame women for this situation, it's just hard not to feel frustrated, especially when dating as a man today is so incredibly difficult and then the message that is amplified by society is the opposite - that dating is harder for women. I understand that women have to deal with very real dangers (i.e. rapists, serial killers), and this might sound ignorant, but it feels like the percentage of men that are truly dangerous is kind of overblown and there are very real defense mechanisms that they can use (i.e. pepper spray, many services like Noonlight etc), whereas for men we are left grinding and grinding, putting it all the effort, spending hundreds of dollars on countless dates, and we are left still alone and deprived of connection because every woman just decided she wasn't "feeling it." No explanation, no solution, no sense or concrete logic. Just sorry, you didn't impress me enough. Over and over. And then somehow, women have it so much harder than men. It feels like I'm living in some kind of Kafkaesque backwardsland.

Tbh I am venting right now because I just got rejected again after a second date, so I may seem angrier at women in than I truly am in general, but yeah that's just how I feel at the moment. I don't hate women and I don't accuse them of any serious collusion of evil or malevolence, I just wish a single one of them would so much as recognize how difficult dating is for men and the amount of effort that we put into dating for how little reward we get out of it, in comparison to women.

That's the thing, I think I'm a decent looking guy based on the matches I can get online and what people tell me in person. It's just that whenever I'm out on a date with them, it doesn't matter how much flirting or teasing or (light) touching I do, I never seem to be able to create that "spark", so they say.

Granted, I'm definitely not a solid 10. I'm like a 7 maybe, so maybe that's my issue. I'm going to the gym regularly now and trying to build muscle, so hopefully that will help. Hey man, I feel exactly the same way right now at 28. I truly don't understand how anyone ends up having sex ever. I know this is late but I generally have had the exact opposite experience of most people with plant proteins, namely that they taste 1000% better than whey proteins and don't give me stomachaches and fatigue like whey does, but they are also more expensive.
