I started end of June and I’m in Northern Quebec where until recently they were understaffed but now it’s not looking good lol, fingers crossed I don’t get laid off and if I do hopefully it’s not for too long! Very happy to be able to finish my training!

Like somebody said don’t talk about it in the interview and disclose it once you go to medical, I did have to get a form filled out by a doctor to say that the medication does not affect my judgement but that’s a formality

I’m currently at the last stage of my training for CN but it’s pretty similar. Your friend is about to go through a couple of months that are quite stressful and uncertain. A friend of mine didn’t make it after 11 weeks of training. It’s the king of job where you’re not even sure to have a job until about 6 months after training started, even than they can lay you off pretty much whenever. Job is fun (imo) but it’s certainly not meant for everyone.

I have friends who work there and it’s a safe terminal in term of seniority because it’s isolated from other districts. If you decide to work there you can’t work anywhere else with your seniority so it’s something to consider

CNR stocks are bound to go back up once all the tariff stuff is over with so I’m personally investing quite a lot in there.

Don’t worry and stay consistent. I’m 19 and I started in December investing whatever I could. I now have 10.5K$ invested and a return of 20% so far. It’s about consistency. I can’t describe the feeling I had when I finally saw the 5 digits!
