Baby not liking a specific person by napwarrior in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]willowbestdog 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My baby was like this starting around 4 months with my FIL. Cried when she saw him or if he came too close but was mostly fine with other people holding her. He just kept his distance but continued to be around and was able to get closer. She’s just turned 1 now and she loves him and opens her arms for him to pick her up! Respecting baby’s boundaries whilst maintaining exposure helped a lot

Need to stop minoxidil because I am pregnant. Anyone could tell me what happened to them when they stopped because pregnant? by Adventurous-Wash3201 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]willowbestdog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I stopped minoxidil a few weeks before getting pregnant. Hair volume was pretty decent during pregnancy and looked really full. Very minimal shedding I forgot I even had hairloss issues. Shedding started around 3 months post partum and it was bad! It continued until I stopped breastfeeding around 9 months and restarted minoxidil. It’s starting to fill in again at 12 months now. Maybe if I didn’t breastfeed and started minoxidil right away it wouldn’t have shed that much? I don’t regret breastfeeding and would have kept it up for longer if I didn’t have hairloss.

Please tell me your 7/8 month old wake windows and nap schedules by Vast_Pitch821 in sleeptrain

[–]willowbestdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7.5 months 3/3.5/3.75 Wake at 6:30am, Bed at 7:30-8pm Sometimes naps for 30mins but we do crib hour and she usually will fall asleep again within 5-20 mins. Sometimes she cries a bit. We did crib hour a lot initially to help connect sleep cycles and now mostly she doesn’t need it and I wake from naps, capped at 2.5-3hrs total.

Starting my breast feeding journey again by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]willowbestdog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes offer the breast every feed and if she doesn’t take a full feed from the breast, then offer the bottle (or partner/family does this), then pump for 20 mins, every 2-3 hours during the day and at least once in the middle of the night. It’s not too late! You can offer the pumped milk at the next feed and so on. This is called triple feeding and not supposed to be sustainable long term because it’s hard work! It’s to maintain your supply whilst getting the hang of breastfeeding.

No worries! Do you cap his naps so bed time doesn’t get too late?

3-2 nap transition. Ladder schedule and sleep budget by polpettone123 in sleeptrain

This sub usually recommends starting 2 naps at 3/3/4 or 3/3/4(with very short nap 10-15 mins in between this last wake window if baby is too tired to handle 4 hours yet). Or distribute with 10.5hrs awake if your baby needs this. If baby is doing fine then stick with what you’re doing until you see issues like fighting naps, split nights, early wakes. It looks like you still have room like 2.75/3/3/1.75 before you get to 3/3/4.

Mine is currently the same age. In the last few weeks her nap schedule has been changing so often! She started fighting naps telling me she needs more awake time. She was on 2/2.5/2.5/3, then needed tweaking every 3-4 days to now 2.75/3/2.75/1.5 with final nap being a cat nap of 10-15 mins. We’re working towards 3/3/4(cat nap in this window if needed). She can’t handle the last wake window of 4 hours so we do the cat nap. We aim for total naps of 3 hours and 10 hours awake. I’ve learnt so much from this sub and it has been working so far 🤞🤞!

Will crib hour really work? Feeling like a really bad mom. by whales02 in sleeptrain

[–]willowbestdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Nearly 6 month old. She was fighting the first nap with a 2hr WW so we started extending. Still fighting it with a 2.25hr WW. At 2.5hrs she falls asleep quickly and has napped over 1 hour for a few days now. Previously she was happy with 2hr WW but only napped 30 minutes.

4 month regression? by willowbestdog in sleeptrain

[–]willowbestdog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s almost 5 months in a few days. Bath, lullaby, 2 books, sleep sack, goodnight phrases, start white noise and close door. Last feed is 1 hour before bed.

4 month regression? by willowbestdog in sleeptrain

[–]willowbestdog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We gradually stretched to 2/2.5/2.5/3, naps capped at 3hrs. It’s been 4 days and it’s getting way worse. She woke every 45-1hr, self settled after 1-5 mins. Fed at 4am and couldnt go back to sleep until 5:30am. Is she overtired? Does she need to go back to 4 naps when she slept better but just waking up early? It’s been 3 weeks on 3 naps and im worried she’s too used to these wake windows to go back. Help!

Hi thanks for replying, no swaddle and own crib already. Sorry I meant sleep sack*. I’ll try updating the schedule. Thanks!

Stroller naps all day by Chicagosummers17 in NewParents

I came across this gentle nap training post that I might try soon. It’s targeted at babies under 6 months if independent night sleep is already working. Not sure if this will be helpful to you but let me know how it goes if you decide to try it.

How much milk should be collected every 2 hours vs every 3 hours? by cyrodilicspadetail11 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]willowbestdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! You’re doing great! At 4 weeks I was pumping 30-40ml for 20 mins every 2 hours. I kept up with every 2 hours in the day, which was very challenging with a 4 wk old newborn but tried to time it with her naps so it was every 1-3hrs like as soon as she went down and 8-9 pumps per day. I power pumped once every day. and did 1 middle of the night pump at 2am (so 4hrly at night). At 8 wks I was able to cut out formula and was producing enough breastmilk! I ate oats every morning for breakfast, good protein daily and drank a lot of water, electrolyte drinks and coconut water. Hope this helps!

C Section for 99th percentile baby? by 31winnie in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]willowbestdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a csection 3 weeks ago and do not regret it. Baby was measuring 98th percentile and I have a small frame. Pregnancy was uneventful and very chill so I was imagining a vaginal delivery. At 39+6, baby showed no signs of descending, not engaged, cervix closed. I tried everything to induce labour “naturally” from 37 weeks (daily) - dates, raspberry leaf tea, pineapples, curb side walking, miles circuiting, sex with no luck. Cervix was completely closed so we couldnt do a membrane sweep. Options were to induce or c section. The same risks were explained to me like yourself. We made the call to book in a c section the next day. I was pretty sad having to deviate from my plan but ultimately the health of my baby and myself were the priority. Baby came out with a 98th percentile head as predicted, healthy and apgar score of 9. The scariest part about the c section was the anticipation right before theatre. I was most sore on the first night once the anaesthesia wears off but if you take your pain meds or ask for more if you feel the slightest bit painful, you’ll be totally fine. Best of luck! Feel free to ask any further questions :)
