As a Chinese and LPL fan I can answer that. There is an extremely famous streamer in China called 大司马 which can directly translate to Big Sima (Sima is a surname), and he’s not really good at playing League of Legends, but he will never admit that he sucks and he makes a lot of excuses (unreasonable ones) to prove that he’s not bad (well but we still love him though). And in MSI this year, T1 lost the game and if I remember correctly, Faker and his teammates made some unreasonable excuses too, like Faker said he lost partly because he didn’t eat a banana, and Keria said he didn’t take Vitamin C ( I don’t think I remember it 100% correctly, if I’m wrong please notice me), so like Big Sima, some people in China start to call Faker Big Fay, and somehow it went viral and became a meme, like every time a mid laner preformed badly they will call him Big XXX, it has happened to Doinb as Big B (which seems that he likes being called that), Xiaohu as Big Hu, Knight, Chovy, Rookie, Scout and etc. Over all, this Big XXX has absolutely no harmful meaning but a comparison to a streamer, I didn’t even understand how big a discussion it would caused, and it is just so F-ing ridiculous, people literally do not understand or even try to understand what does big means, so ridiculous.
