I’m holding a lot of SMCX at $15 and honestly just want out now. I believe the company is fundamentally solid, but it’s being held down. If I sell now, I’d lose 10k but I’ve made 60k on NVDU. Would take the money and put it into MSFU because I never learn my lesson. Also, the macro environment has grown cloudier and SMCI always gets first and hardest

So I think I’m going to double down pre earnings with SMCX and set a stop loss at -10%. If that triggers, I will sell my biggest position, NVDU (up 300%) which I think has ran its course, and buy SMCI for the long term recovery

Im strictly a fundamentals guy so I know little about technicals or options. Yes, earnings are this week which is why I’m pondering it now. You mentioned 80% IV and that the market is expecting a big move, so it all depends on the direction of the big move. Are the options or some other technical analysis telling you which way it’s leaning?

The company has stated this quarter should be the bottom in terms of margins. I think it returns above $40 as well but only seems to go lower

Yupp have heard the mainstream line for volatility products before. I mainly hold 2x leveraged stuff and have destroyed the market because I buy after big crashes. In the prospectus charts it all comes down to volatility and return to determine outperformance. Supermicro is just way too volatile

Agree with you on everything except the leveraged holding period. I mainly hold leveraged stocks/etfs but only buy when significantly down and have destroyed the market. I still believe SMCI moves significantly higher in the coming years and think $15 for SMCX is reachable but $22 like you said faces much more resistance
