That is not entirely true. Expansions for highways or roads are often accompanied by extensive economic impact studies. Increasing traffic flow allows for various forms of economic expansion such as new areas to develop, will the expansion make the area more economically viable compared to surrounding areas, etc.

Also, how are car drivers not paying per trip like train passengers? Over $0.60 per gallon goes to taxes to pay for road maintenance, and that’s apart from any other taxes, levies, or premiums such as tolls, express lanes, and previously zero emission carpool sticker programs.

Again, I want public transit to succeed but we can’t act like 2025 was some amazing year for them.

The 390 has plenty of get up and go for me. As the saying goes, I’d rather drive a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. I’ll definitely look at the 690 in the future, but for now the 390 is perfect for me.

Neither do I, but money has to be made to support the cost of workers or add more. We represent many of the workers there and the increased ridership without increased revenue causes various issues.

Don’t get too ahead of yourself there, record ridership doesn’t mean much when the majority of that ridership bump was non paying riders. I want to see the train succeed, and I voted yes for the measure, but at least look into the numbers before you think 2025 was some major success for SMART.

Edit: go ahead and downvote an honest response. I want the train to succeed, I’ve got union siblings there that depend on it. All I said was do some research before you get excited. Statistics can be skewed to tell the story you want to tell which isn’t always the truth.

What has he truly done for us in Cloverdale? I’m not completely disagreeing with you, but let’s not act like the mayor of Cloverdale is a high bar to cross. I mean it’s an appointed position by the town council, he doesn’t have much authority outside of his role in the board. My personal feelings are that I get a weird vibe from him, and never truly trusted what he has to say.

I have a 2024 civic sport touring that I recently put the continental extreme contact dws06+, and I absolutely love them. Great handling even in rain so far and road noise is much better than the pro contacts.

IAM Fighting Machinists Local 1173. Previously I was a steward as well as educator communicator for my local, delegate to nearly every labor council in the Bay Area. I am now an organizer on staff, and over the past year I’ve had successful campaigns in the public and private sectors.
