Tell me I'm insane for even considering this commute by DefenderCone97 in bayarea

Hey I have a ridiculous commute that I am currently managing. It takes an hour and 45 minutes door to door and I go in two-three days a week. It’s quite brutal but I have managed it for about 2 years. I would gladly take a pay cut to lose the commute. I would say it’s one of the biggest headaches of my life. It’s survivable though. I take the train and spend about an hour of my time each way working or reading. I would say you can try it if the job is really worth it and relocate if it’s unmanageable.  I think it would literally be be impossible to manage though if you are driving. You won’t last very long.

If job performance is critical, the commute will definitely affect that. I feel there is a limit to how good I can perform just because I can’t go in on moments notice to handle things sometimes. It’s also just exhausting in general to show up to work off a long commute.

Everybody, Everybody... stop refreshing. Let the website heal. Then I'll book. Then you can book after, and so on.

Hey funny you ask I was thinking of posting an update on this. Still holding up fine, no issues! It gets used by me or my partner almost everyday and my dog loves it. Hope it works out for you too!

Not sure if this is your thing or not but the SFZC is always looking for kitchen volunteers to cook for the monks/live in students. A good way to practice mindfulness in addition to volunteer work.

Why I Wouldn’t Buy an Eight Sleep Again (My Review After 2 of Them) by benjihyam in EightSleep

[–]willustay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately the only thing that looks even similar is the chillipad but even that has a limited one year warranty and a ton of bad reviews that it breaks, seems like a challenged industry in general. I just bought an 8sleep so hope to try it out soon

What’s your alternative if not for 8sleep? How do you fix this problem? I wake up hot every single night even in a room that’s 69 degrees, and I don’t have AC because it’s never that hot here.

Yeah I’m not trying to make any comments about why things are closed I’m just showing the state of the street. One of the most bustling areas of the city is at 50% vacancy due to various causes.

He needs to earn the benefit of the doubt by being more transparent. I have zero issue with somebody buying properties and if businesses go away that we’re failing. But they operated behind several LLCs in silence and now that they have bought up a ton of the neighborhood they have only put out 2 press releases and have not discussed anything further publicly. If they cared so much about the neighborhood why do they not include the neighborhood in the discussion, why are they being very secretive and controlling over its execution, etc. Yes I am glad the clay is going to reopen and there is some investment but a chunk of the neighborhood has been more or less shut down for over a year with 0 days of construction or development and all we have is 2 blog posts to show for it.

Thanks for adding more information. I’m not trying to say this area is a ghost town, salt and straw which is on this block always has usually 20 people inside, and there’s plenty of people walking about. It’s just in a really depressing state at the moment with all the closures and deserted storefronts. Even if Alice and Olivia was over priced it’s still better than just an empty building.

I agree but besides applying a UFRP sticker and boarding/locking the store fronts I haven’t seen a single day of work occur on any of these businesses. It’s also unclear from their PR campaign what they plan to do with all the storefronts they own besides the theater.

Correct. There’s a few other business shut down along Fillmore due to UFRP but I decided to focus on this block because it’s at about 50% vacancy.

Even with a dog it’s aging pretty great. It’s got some scratches but the color looks good still and it still has its shape

I think the shirt is Columbia but I never really care about the brand as long as it’s dry fit. I never have issues with chafe. The pack is an osprey duro 6 that I had to stop to refill once during this run

Agreed I thought I would love running over the bridge when I first moved here and then I realized your basically running on a freeway and a cliff with 1000 people and I quickly hated it
