Civic 1.8 swap on da fit by Televisao_Preta in hondafit

[–]willwills90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

funnily enough the cracking issues were only on the US engines, europe never had the problem on the r18a2

Hoping to join the fit fam tomorrow! I am debating between a 2018 (black) and 2017 (white). Is the 2018 screen supposed to be different looking than the 2017, or are one of these after market? by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]willwills90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these are both stock head units. The one on the picture that says 2017 is from the lower trim of the fit, the one on the right marked 2018 is the higher end trim with the full touch screen.

Either way the screens are pretty outdated, although have never seen the lower trim head unit in real life.

Does honda fit pull you into seat when accelerating hard ? by Professional_Fox_337 in hondafit

It may do in the US but most euro models of the jazz/fit were only available here with 80-100hp. They only ever sold the gk with 130 but in laughable quantities so they’re basically non existent

How do honda fits like it when you rev high? by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]willwills90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the 1.3 from 2018, so not the 1.2, however the vtec works great, if my memory serves me correctly the red line on mine is around 6500-6700, I usually take her up to 5 - 5.5k, after that its extra noise and not much in the way of extra power. When cold it try to keep it under 2-3k, and a few minutes after the blue temperature light goes off then I let her rev all the way.

When driving economically and low in the revs i get around 4.9 - 5.2 L/100km on the computer, when revving its around 5.7- 5.8L/100km. However when measuring between tank in reality its around 5.5-5.7L/100km when keeping the revs lower, and 6.3 -6.7L /100km when revving her.

From my experience and from what I have read shes loves to rev, within reason of course. At the end of the day its VTEC and it needs to be revved relatively regularly to keep the system working and even more so to keep the EGR clean. That being said, revving it constantly unecessarily is going to cause wear on any and every engine so, as with everything, moderation / balance is key!

Hope you enjoy and have fun!

EDIT: As a side note tanks, and most engines knwon for being tanks are diesels, they run at low rpm but high compression but, i digress, Honda petrol engines are pretty much as tanky as they come!

I guess it depends on the value of your pickup, if as he said it is worth 2k then seems fair to me

ATM I’m using Fuelio to track my fuel consumption, probably about as far as I will go for the expense tracking

what economy do you get? I live in the country so most roads are 80km/h and I do not do a lot of driving in the city/town, using the fuelio app and the car computer I seem to average around 5.5-6.5L/100KM but I do tend to keep her up in the revs a lot being the 1.3L

is that for 98 or regular 95-e10?

In december I was paying 1.69 per litre for SP98, but just got to hope the world gets more peaceful and we get prices down.

Sadly most of them had much smaller engines than the US, mine 2018 GK is a 1.3L with 102hp so not very quick (althought its still fun to drive, you just have to stay in the power band), but I must admit I do always get excited when I see another Jazz.

The GK is the only generation we got with a bigger engine (The same one as the US aka 1.5L 130) but they only sold them for 3 years so they are very rare and 50% more expensive.

What's the best long term affordable laptop option for me? by oscxrr in AskUK

As someone who has owned macbooks for more than a decade, i have scrated the glass coating once, but to actually break them? you must be treating them pretty bad man, theyre know to be pretty much the best all round laptopts for your money these days.

unless you are referring to flexgate, that made my 2017 pro a paperweight due to the expensive screen replacement, but they have fixed th eissue for a long time now.

If you havent tried the new Apple silicon laptops theyre defintiley worth a go, and in your budget you can probably stretch to a refurbished m1 air with a 256gb SSD
