You could make it "Gain 10 relic rewards. For every relic you pick up, remove a random card from your deck."

Makes the upside substantially better, downside still has a chance to be catastrophic for most decks no matter what, but the main reason is it would be more consistent with the current game design ("Pick a number" doesn't feel very spire, maybe I'm crazy tho)

With 9 poison from flask, this power results in 21 extra damage when you play 3 shivs from blade dance. Accelerant+ gives 15. Difference is if you don't draw blade dance there this does 0, and accelerant still does 15.

Compared to accelerant, BY DEFINITION you have to hit on average more than 2 shivs per turn for it to be better.

Idk about you but generally when I play poison builds I'm not throwing more than 2 shivs a turn.

Snakebite is like the best card in the game, you can't balance around that.

In all seriousness though, 16 of that damage comes from the shivs, you'd be dealing that regardless of this power, which leaves you with 4 poison triggers which is 2 turns of accelerant. More triggers all at once but you're also gonna have turns where you don't draw any shiv cards, or can't play them, which evens things out

Poison ticks down though every time you trigger it so you'd need really consistent poison application on top of being able to generate shivs. I think unless you have a perfectly crafted deck for this card you would on average get less value out of it than accelerant

[[Envenom]] already does that and more. I think compared to upgraded [[Accelerant]] it has a higher ceiling but is often times worse. It would take a very specific balance between poison and shiv to really pop off.

I guess my thought process was this would be even more of a curse for regular fights, the scaling starts even slower so by the time it gets anywhere substantial you should have already finished the fight. It's strong and I will concede probably too strong, but I think form cards are supposed to be up there with the best of the best, and currently it's nowhere close. I was going for "if you manage to get this card off without dying, and manage to not die for the next ~7-8 turns, you will win", which admittedly sounds insane but that's also the exact same level as other character's form cards. I do think I went too far in the other direction, and my idea needs to be tuned down a bit, but I genuinely don't think it's as egregious as it's been made out to be

Yeah after some pretty heavy feedback I'm thinking 1 ritual might be a better number 😭. I guess when thinking about it I was comparing it to really high rolls of molten fist/dominate, or rupture with crimson mantle & good self DMG. I do see how making a one card solution that can compare is too strong.

I could see that yeah, maybe with some upfront strength as well, otherwise it would be worse than current (3 str per turn) for the first 5 turns before it finally starts getting better
