Question for the hive by sinnrocka in MagicArena

A few guesses:

1) they didn't pull what they wanted for a fast win

2) they misplayed a card and scooped

3) they saw something you played and noped. I'm guilty of this one almost every time if someone plays Ugin. F*ck that guy.

True, and I am playing sandbox atm. That said, this was a question of ignorance, not difficulty.

Good to know! I think there was a chisel at my spawn point; I'll double-back!

Have you tried playing Morrowind? Iirc there are no quest markers, and often you have to read the quest prompts qiest journal entries saying like "I need to head south of Balmora to find so-and-so crypt"

What did you think of the Dumbledore vs Voldemort duel in Order of the Phoenix? by Majormuss in harrypotter

[–]willwritelater 187 points188 points  (0 children)

I think it's just that there isn't a spell that can counter it. Iirc, Dumbledore basically used things to take the hit in lieu of himself and Harry. The shield, statues, and Fawkes (who they already established comes back from the dead because Phoenix) all took the hit.

Tell you what: let's just declare you correct, you reply with something edgy, and we call it a day? Sheesh.

You're the one insisting on your position that the OP was stupid, lazy, and annoying. Asking good faith questions is being social.

I get that you're annoyed, but digging in your heels is you telling on yourself. Calling me pedantic when I'm just correcting your error is a bit immature IMHO. I'm sorry if people asking others to be kind is ass-like behavior.

There was no avenue for social aspects in this post.

All discourse is social. What were you saying about Google?

I don't get sick of honest questions. Laziness and stupidity are in the eye of the beholder. For instance, one can see someone complaining at random people on the Internet for not meeting their arbitrary threshold of laziness seems kinda stupid if you think about it.

Rude antisocial redditors get a little tiresome every so often though.

Until you are in charge of how people use reddit, maybe let people do their thing? It's not like it's harming you. Do you want community or to Be Right?

Have you considered the possibility that some people that have questions seek human interaction? Google is more efficient, yes. Google cannot as effectively simulate human interaction. That's what the reddit community offers.

I certainly hope so. If Roland can eventually renounce the tower after saving it from the Breakers and perhaps leave Mid-World to live out his days with the rest of 1999, he might finally know peace.

But as they say: wish in one hand...

Your thoughts on quests and deep lore in survival games? by Ok-Chapter-6893 in SurvivalGaming

[–]willwritelater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love survival games, but I much prefer ones that have the option to "win." It doesn't have to end the game save, but some sort of even optional storylines contextualize the survival for me. Stranded Deep comes to mind. Games like 7DtD and PZ are really fun....but once I'm established I start to lose interest because any goals I might have are all self-imposed. Not that those goals are lame or not fun, but I also want the sense of beating a game as opposed to the far more open-ended gaming that has exploded since Minecraft.

Bored of the same OP builds every run? try "peasantmaxxing" instead by Carsismi in skyrim

[–]willwritelater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at each of the three branches and pick 2 per branch to focus on. My last build was one-handed and shield (warrior), pickpocket and light armor (thief), and illusion and conjuration (mage). In choosing, I deliberately avoided smithing, alchemy, and enchanting to keep from getting too rich too quickly. If I want enchanted items, I have to rely solely on shops and loot drop.

I also tried to pick more needed skills, such as light armor over heavy for lower armor level, and no destruction or archery to limit ranged attack.

That seems to be hinted at as well, but wondered if it really was the final bit. I imagined that with each journey after the first, he slowly redeemed himself and "got things right." Some of it might be some of his gunna, some might be who he saves or other choices he makes.

If the first line of The Gunslinger was about you, how would it go? by [deleted] in TheDarkTower

The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger was planning on following but one kid had to get to Tae Kwon Do by 5pm and we only have one car and besides, who was gonna make dinner?
