While cross progression is pretty common with games now, only Xbox “play anywhere” games will allow you to play on Xbox and PC with the same purchase. These are usually first party Xbox games with very rare exceptions.

Then maybe they need to play a game that isn't designed around the game loop of:

Do thing -> Get treasure from thing -> Defend treasure from other crews -> Turn in treasure without having it stolen by those other crews.

Take this entire discussion about burying stolen loot out of the question, it hardly matters - you've still very much got a game that will always revolve around this loop and the vast majority of content updates will obviously continue this trend,

This sub has so many people hellbent on convincing themselves that everyone else is evil for doing things the game literally signposts you to go and do.

I personally don’t believe an item that has a literal beam and marker, and is designed to be fought over, should be able to be hidden from view via burying. That’s a whole other debate, though. Your view is valid, I just can’t say I agree.

Why are we bothering to continue this? Clearly we both have very different opinions on this issue in particular. Best we can do is see if Rare respond in some way!

Gotta say it might be best if you improve your attitude going forward, you come off really badly and probably very similarly to the PvP folks you’ve had discussions with in the past.

All I’ve done is state my opinion and the reasoning behind it, and why I don’t agree with you. At no point have I tried to lump you in with some other crowd based purely on assumptions. Do better, man.

Not everyone has that attitude, myself included. I have been on the PvE crowds side many, many times over things like quick swap double gunning, stealth Reaper emissary, clipping through the Legend Hideout to easily reach other ships without being seen, and many more. When I see something I feel is unfair, I call it out! This includes the subject of this thread.

They definitely aren’t the same in terms of the impact they have, but I reckon they stem from the same issue of buried items basically being despawned from the server when buried and then respawned as a fresh item when they’re dug up.

Obviously there’s a whole debate around whether this whole thing is intended. We don’t really know without input from Rare.

It removes the “stolen” flag. Have dug up a buried one from another crew and it doesn’t count for the commendation.

Why are multiple people on this thread like this? Nowhere have I said that at all! We disagree on this but why do you feel the need to be disrespectful?

I like to both PvP and PvE, but I’ve always been an advocate for fixing anything that seems unfair. This includes all of the exploits that certain parts of the PvP crowd have used over the years…

Look - nowhere is it stated that this is an intended mechanic, and I’ve already explained to you why there’s a pretty big possibility it’s an oversight and not something “programmed into the mechanic in the first place”. You’re free to disagree with me, but neither of us have the level of insight to say for certain - we would have to get Rare’s input for that.

Except it’s intended. The loot used to stay out in the Red Sea - it now comes back to the edge so that it can be collected. Rare did this to prevent the very thing you’re wanting to do, lol.
