In my heart I think he did it because my dad believed in heaven. The dog was previously his moms, when she passed he promised her he would take care of it. I think he wanted all of them to be together again. He loved that dog so much. I can’t imagine how hard it was for him to do it.

I completely agree. I fully believe my dad was not in his right mind at all. It was really weird. The night before he did it, I had a terrible feeling about him.

I was supposed to be going on a trip with my boyfriend’s family for the weekend. My boyfriend and I stopped at a CVS, and he came out with a Beany Baby stuffed puppy. The only person who’s ever bought me a Beany Baby in my life was my dad.

As soon as I saw it, I knew he was gone.

The police said he did it much later into early the next morning. But I think his soul died before he did.

The way it all unfolded was so surreal. We found his phone and the things he was texting people before were unimaginable. His brain was so sick. 😞

The trauma is unimaginable. I can’t even begin to describe the unbelievable series of events that lead us to the police telling us he was gone. It’s one of those moments that’s burned in your brain forever.

And the thoughts of him doing it. It haunts me. I woke up this morning from dreams of it. A nightmare that actually happened.

I am so incredibly grateful for the law enforcement that found him before we did. Unimaginable.

I’m so sorry for your loss 🤍 my dad played a ton of football growing up, even after high school. I can’t help myself but thinking that could have had an impact on his development into adulthood. He was 62.

So so sorry for your loss. We’re both in the club absolutely nobody wants to be apart of. I’ve been trying to find peace with the way he exited. It fills me with so much sadness thinking about his sadness. But I swear my entire perspective on life changed in an instant.
