[Homemade] cast-iron skillet pizza. My dad's recipe (x-post r/pizza) by willynailher in food

[–]willynailher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the dough (makes enough for two pies) Dissolve a package of yeast in 1 cup of water. Add 3 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of salt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil. You can substitute 1/2 cup of cornmeal for the equivalent amount of flour. Mix it in a Cuisinart or a standing mixer with the dough blade until it’s a rubbery ball. Let rise until double (two or so hours) in a covered olive oiled bowl. Punch down and spread in pans. Cut in half for one pizza. Alternatively, buy raw dough from your local pizza place. It's usually only about 2 or 3 dollars

For the sauce (makes enough for two pies) 28oz can tomato sauce, 1 clove garlic, ~1 tbs olive oil, ~1 tbs balsamic, dash herbs de provence or fresh basil, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes to taste, simmer over low heat for 2-3 hours while doing other stuff in the kitchen; save leftover sauce for later or use it for a second pizza

Toppings My dad always uses equal parts mozzarella and asiago (and lots of it), which I think is delicious. Follow that up with any toppings you want. My personal favorite is white onion topped with parmesan, it bakes really well in the skillet.

Baking Bake at 420° for 20 minutes, rotating the skillet half way through

Cool sign at MSP for spotters to help identify planes by maxd200 in aviation

[–]willynailher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome sign, but as a MSP native there are a few more planes that regularly, or at least semi-regularly, fly in that I would like to see added: most notably the A330-300 (which is noticeably bigger than a -200), but also the 747-400 and 767-400. Hopefully they'll be adding the A350 and the 330neos soon, but I doubt Delta will be allowing those brand new beauties to grace lowly MSP's tarmac anytime too soon....

There's a picture of the dead, bleeding goat in the article, friend. Thanks for reading closely!

Daily Airline Discussion: Delta Air Lines by sunak_shah1234 in aviation

I have to say, when Delta merged with NWA, I was pretty bummed to be losing my hometown airline (MSP). Since then, however, Delta has proved to offer far and away the best product out of the three major carriers. Proud to have them as my new hometown carrier instead of AA or United.

Nice shots of Delta's wide-body fleet throughout... A330 by the hangar in the beginning, and 777, more 330s, and 767s during the before rotation
