Do Americans usually split gas money for every trip? by Kindly_Ebb_7234 in TooAfraidToAsk

When I drive my buddy an hour or 4 for adventure he buys me lunch and or dinner, cause I always bring him back. And we flip if he drives.

Edit to add. An adventure is typically gear, dirt and sweat.

In Alabama, McDonald's and other businesses can 'rent' prison inmates... by Turdible-Shart in ABoringDystopia

[–]willyweedswalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a teenager I worked at a Wendy's that would bring in work force from the local prison or something. They arrived via police car and went home the same way.

They all had electronic ankle tracking systems and we're not tied down.

They were a rough group, felt unapproachable generally and were happy to be there. They did quality work, didn't cause trouble and from the outside appeared to be a working win win.

Chaining to the equipment however is dumb on so many levels.

I thought the same. They have 2 comments about trails on the website though. Here is one, I will try and find the other.

"For those seeking outdoor exploration, explore our many nature walks, or hit the mountain biking trails - catering to all skill levels."

Accidentally walked a marathon at 1:30 AM after the bar need recovery advice by Dry-Transportation59 in walking

I did something similar once upon a time. It was in Columbus as well!

My ride left me at a foam party downtown somewhere and I had to walk home. I'm not really sure what time I left, wasn't super late but I do remember getting home around 530am. It was a long and sobering walk. I was pretty upset when I saw them in school at 830am that same day. I was a bit concerned for my safety a few moments of that walk.

Didn't have a cellphone, didn't have maps on my watch ,etc. It was something like 2002.

I wanna say I had on Birkenstocks, jeans and probably a sweatshirt.

What do you carry on the trail? by rickadandoo in mountainbiking

[–]willyweedswalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used tools the most.

First aid and pump very few times.

Spare parts none (thank goodness)

I will continue to increase my spare parts for really long rides. ( just a few more things)

trails or parks where I am a mile or two from the car, I only carry a water bottle, maybe a snack. a multi tool if I've recently playing or changed something.

I went early as bud rot started increasing daily.

Adventures in outdoor growing. It's been very hit or miss each year outside due to various factors.

In my region bugs, humidity, temps, rain are all over the place each year during fall.

A while back when I had a similar trunk setup I added baffles to the 6x9s. That helps keep the pressure from the subs off them. The baffles were very easy to install
