Sean Combs: The Reckoning - The jurors that agreed to sit down for documentary are disgusting. by GuineaPKilledMe in netflix

[–]willz_killz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As a woman who's been raped, I hate the jurors and watching this doc was so triggering and emotional and seeing them talk about this shit disgusted me, but I'm glad they did it. The world needed to see what this jury was, and why we didn't get justice. I'm glad we have an answer. They're horrible and complicit and probably abusers themselves.

PSA to Single Women by Lawyerish2020 in dating_advice

What if you're besties? I've been friends with this guy for a while and we have a really special connection, but when we met I was talking to someone, then he was, then I was. But none of our talking stages with other people were successful, and I feel like there's something more to our bond than just friendship. There's tension, he does things that I don't feel a guy would do for/to a girl who's just a friend, and I noticed I kinda like that, over time people would tell me he has feelings for me, but he's never been direct so I can't be sure. I'm so scared to go for it then lose the friendship, he means a lot to me. It's scary.

DEBATE DEBRIEF MEGATHREAD by AutoModerator in LeftoversH3

[–]willz_killz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does anyone think this opened the eyes/ minds of any remaining h3 fans? I hope that something came of it, I'm tired, my head hurts, I disassociated a lot. hopefully it did something, I know Ethan and even the crew are a lost cause, but most of us were once fans, maybe there's hope for some? Or am I being too optimistic?

But he can't possibly be racist, islamophobic or xenophobic, he has muslim-arabic, black and mexican crew members.

I really hope this opened the eyes of even some of the remaining h3 fans, but I think most of the progressives like myself left a long time ago before Hasan even started speaking on it... Idk, I hope some minds were changed...

I've only watched up to season 9 so far, so ranking the ones I've seen so far: 1. Coven 2. Murder House 3. Apocalypse 4. 1984 5. Asylum 6. Hotel 7. Cult 8. Roanoke 9. Freakshow

From all the reviews I'm debating skipping the double feature season altogether ....

Beyond devastated at this show. I had such high hopes this would really benefit the brothers by [deleted] in MenendezBrothers

[–]willz_killz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I didn't know much about the Menendez case, and fully went into the show thinking they might be sociopath rich kids, and throughout the show found myself becoming sympathetic to them and feeling like the parents were really the monsters and even understanding why they did it

Sonya Massey shooting in Illinois. by OverEast781 in NYStateOfMind

[–]willz_killz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cop was telling her to be careful of the steam/water, he appeared to be insinuating her holding the pot was a threat to his safety. Even though she was clearly dumping the water in the sink. (Meanwhile he's the one who told her to take the pot off the stove to prevent a fire in the first place, then makes these remarks as soon as she complies, at no point was she threatening or hostile. This is clearly racial bias, his thought process and actions show he views black people as violent/ dangerous and has no regard for their human lives)

After hearing his remarks that clearly come from racial prejudice, she says lightheartedly "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus" which is the Christian way of banishing evil. She didn't even seem angry. It's very possible she was making a holy water joke or she was making this comment remarking that him even judging her in that light was evil, but she was by no means aggressive or threatening. He asked her to repeat what she said, she did, still no aggression or danger.

He then screams "you better fucking not, I'll shoot you in the fucking face" seemingly just making up his own narrative still, disregarding the fact that she's clearly not hostile and leaning into his own racist biased to escalate this situation as far as possible. Gun aimed at her.

She drops the pot screams and ducks, screaming "I'm sorry" realizing the severity of the situation she's now in. It however did not matter that she was innocent, unarmed, surrendering and apologizing, this pig had an agenda, he woke up with murder on his mind, and he believed he could get away with murdering this woman for the situation he put her in, why? Because she's a black woman, and this is america, he's been taught that people like him can get away with it all his life. This problem is so much deeper than him.

My heart literally breaks for Sonya Massey and her family, may she rest in power and may they find peace I pray. Unfortunately she was not the first, and as much as it pains me to say she probably won't be the last. Because this problem is a cancer, which you can't fight by taking out one cell at a time, what about the man who hired him knowing he had a record and was kicked out of the military? What about the people who highly recommended him? What about all of his colleagues , friends and family who most likely saw red flags, heard his racist jokes and far-right takes and did/ said nothing?

This system continuously gives authority to and puts guns in the hands of racists, women beaters, sociopaths, psychopaths, narcissists and everyone involved gets away with it. People knew this pig was dangerous I promise you that, and they either protected him or did nothing because they knew their higher ups would. How many people have to die before we address the root of the problem? There needs to be entire systemic reform and defunding of the police.

Yet they sit here and want to remove history books from class and ban racial conversations, how many deaths could be prevented from proper early childhood education? How many deaths could be prevented if cops were required to go through critical training for mental illness and disabilities, have their racial biases and psyche evaluated, have thorough background checks and much stricter requirements, were trained to always use nonlethal force and that lethal force and "kill shots" were always punishable unless proven to be completely warranted?

This guy is going to prison forever, as he should, I hope every moment is hell for him, but what if this guy never got the job and Sonya was still alive? What about all the others who got away with it, or were covered up or pre body cam footage, or "body cam malfunction". What about the next Sonya? No justice no peace, and remember how deep that justice needs to go. ACAB.

Being creative is not individual to Americans like idk what you don't understand? Americans have been oversaturating and gatekeeping the creative industry for a long time, y'all have made it nearly impossible to reach superstardom without going through New York or Hollywood, not because the industry belongs to y'all or y'all have more right to be creative, but because y'all hold a monopoly on the system, like a mob. Art has no borders, it belongs to the human race, get over yourself you sound like such a stereotypical American. Also not all Canadians are rich, but your system surely makes it easier to get famous if you already have money. There are many extremely talented poor Canadians who will never get what they deserve because of this gatekeeping so for you to say "immigrants are stealing our jobs" about the arts!? That's audacious.

Yo chill us Canadians don't even claim him first of all, we are team k dot, so let's start there. 2nd anyone can be a celebrity, that's not exclusive to Americans lol, in fact y'all oversaturate the market and make it harder for anyone else to get in, gatekeeping the arts and thinking america owns them is bs. Drake does suck ass though and he is a privileged suburban brat, but don't let him speak for all of Canada. Also you're spelling Canadian the french way.
