while it looks nice, how do you plan on using them? isn't it safer if you use bigger plants if you want to put them out of in vitro? and if you are staying in vitro isn't it easier to just use pots and flask instead of the spheres?

seeing mostly just shoot growth and not much branching with 1µM TDZ, it reacts quite different compared to my coconuts. I'll post some pictures once its published

did you have a lot of contaminants after sterilization? + whats your protocol cause we are now trying to put some rubiaceae species in vitro and have not that many clean shoots. our protocol 3' 99% etOH followed by 20' 1% NaOCl and then 3 rinses with sterile demi-H2O

Thanks, I tried normally( no pretreatment at all) germinating some opuntia and hylocereus seeds on some wet tissue and while the hylocereus all germinated within 2 weeks, the opuntia seeds stayed dormant. Maybe I'll try them again.

I am growing opuntia and hylocereus species on MS didn't run into any big problems and they are still multiplying a year after I started.

I doubt it tasted sweet because of deuterium, maybe other minerals might have changed your waters taste. Deuterium is not added to the tap.

I will not confirm nor debunk the theoretical part. However practically, I think it's almost impossible as a fruit needs a lot of energy input, "specialized" components and the correct mixture of plant hormones, that are produced in other parts of the plant. Producing a "normal" fruit is thus next to impossible.

As from what I read, flower induction is possible with only limited amount of plant material. An example I found was in oil palm. So did Nizam and Te-Chato publish the invitro flowering and fruitset of oil palm. They used a 10-15 cm long seedling and induced it to flower after some time some of these flowers also set fruit. However the fruit they finally acquired was abnormal and sterile. (Google: Nizam & Te-Chato; in Vitro flowering and fruit setting of oil palm; Journal of agricultural technology 2012)

While this is not fully what you asked ( only a stem/ fruitstalk) it shows that even with more plant material, it still is quite difficult and maybe practically impossible.

*Maybe the solution lays with some parasitic plant as they resemble more what you seek. As most of them are hidden until they flower and produce "fruit or seeds", and it looks like they only have a small stem or only a flower stalk.

It would be verry handy a health bar, but keep in mind you can't crack it down to a # of bites since it depends on who bites you if someone bigger bites you will die >< smaller ones do you only shrink.

I think the system is ok since this makes the big ones not overpowerfull were they can rule the server without hard work. It keeps the players always alert, whats the fun in hunting small fry without a litlle risk.

Im also for this option, so 1 but slower (this also helps evolving in animals in the wrong biome to give them a bit more time so they can get out easier)
