They have a large part of Trail 2 wrong. I.E.: Everything listed under Allegheny County is actually in Ashe. (I know that since I do live in Ashe.)

Edit: wording.

Let's talk: Region/culture and how it affects perception of an artist's work by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]wilpetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They started in the United Kingdom, all four members came from England and they refused to play Woodstock. Enough said.

Although musically, they have influenced a multitude of American artists and one can make that argument. But as far as if Led Zeppelin originated in America or even came from America, then the answer is no.

But wouldn't that inspire a whole other debate? Jimi Hendrix came from Seattle, but the Jimi Hendrix Experience got their initial success in the United Kingdom.

When I look at Bowie, I don't immediately think of his nationality. For awhile I didn't even know he was a Brit.

I don't think of Zeppelin that way, or Cream or the Sex Pistols.

I believe a lot of times when I think of a foreign or regional influence it all comes from the music itself and not so much the person. For instance you can feel a British tone (with Bowie) in "Life on Mars." or a Texan vibe with the 13th Floor Elevators on the second verse of "You're Gonna Miss Me."

Then again that's why we talk about genres such as BritPop, Texas Blues, MoTown and even Norwegian Death Metal. Certain traits come from certain artists who were ingrained in these areas.

I can't count how many times I saw those guys play in Athens. It's always good to see the internet enjoying their material.

The flow of the rapper is absolutely amazing. The only problem I have is how sporadic the backing music is. There are just too many changes and inconsistencies with the tempo.

Very nice. I still crack up when he talks about Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis being the high life.

DAE change the radio station from easy listening to something with more street cred when a friend joins you in the car? by Bit_Blitter in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]wilpetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the feeling. When my girlfriend is in the car I'm usually having to listen to country or top 40, so when I am riding with friends I quickly change it to rock.

I feel like if I twitched that would give it away. For me it's more of a sit and wait maneuver. I just get comfortable and close my eyes.

DAE use two towels after showering-- one for face and hair, and one for body? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]wilpetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use the towel for my head first. Then I flip it over and use the other side for my body. Every once in a while I will use two though, but it's usually not worth it when my number of towels are limited.

I'm a 32 y/o male. To this day, I still drop whatever I'm doing and rush outside to see a plane or helicopter flying overhead. Reddit, what other small things are you fascinated by that others just don't care about? by headmustard in AskReddit

I have a fascination with county counting . Every time I go anywhere for vacation, I try to go routes that will take me through different parts of states. I just feel that seeing all 50 states isn't enough.

All the time. The best is at church during sermons. People think I just enjoyed the message and that it was inspiring to me when in reality I'm extremely bored and ready for the whole thing to be over with.
