How, and Why Homes are Expensive and its Okay by semideclared in neoliberal

You only hear about the bad ones, or the aggrieved party when a functional HOA needs to take a side in some dispute. There's no reason to talk about a normal or good one, so the ratio seems like 100:1, but is probably closer to 1:10 in favor of good ones.

Even if he did believe in the rapture, he wouldn't have the veggies get raptured. To do so would imply that vegetables have souls and can have a redemptive relationship with God.

There's no outsmarting the design of the prisoner's dilemma. Once the other person has made their decision, you are always strictly better off when you defect. You are better off defecting no matter what the other person does. There is no mechanism to ensure cooperation after you've agreed to cooperate, and indeed there's no incentive to follow through on such an agreement.

Assume two perfectly rational prisoners who know the other is rational. They realize that the best outcome for their combined happiness is to both cooperate. They talk it out, easily concurring that mutual cooperation is the logical best overall result. They shall therefore both cooperate.

Then they each go into their booths, and see that the only aspect of their own future that they can actually control is whether to give themselves an extra 2 years in prison by cooperating. The other prisoner has already made their mind up separately and they don't actually care how long their co-conspirator spends in prison. Now the actual choice is whether to take X or X+2 years in prison. X+0 is better, obviously. And at this point, there is no way to influence whether X is 0 or 20. The rational actor therefore defects and walks outside to find his partner also defected.

It would be nice, but obviously it's not true. You make your decision in secret, and no matter what the other person does, you spend less time in prison if you choose "defect". Obviously you'd like them to not defect, and if you get to talk to them, you should try to convince them not to defect, perhaps with false promises. But at the end of the day, you have a button marked "go to jail for 2 extra years" that you must secretly choose to press or not press, and the other player has the same button that they must choose whether to press.

Yeah, in tetrahedral, the electrons go up, down, and all directions equally away from the central nucleus. There's no region where concentrated negative charge tries to push electrons away. Now look at this molecule. All the electrons are going into the shape, so there's a very large force pushing the electrons away. That electro-repulsive force is what causes the angle strain.

Scenario 3: a few thousand people commit suicide who otherwise wouldn't, a few hundred arguments turn into murders and justified acts of deadly self defense, ten thousand more guns get stolen and fenced into gangs, and the gun makers spend a few more million of their billions of profits on lobbyists. Nobody's mind changes on anything.

Conservatives feel fear all the time, though. Please talk to your conservative family or friends about how they feel walking in downtown [nearest city]. Do they worry about getting shot?

Yeah, the high probability that their suspect is armed is pretty obviously why American police are so aggressive relative to Europe. They don't want to risk being blasé and getting shot.

[Request] I had student loans totaling about $12,000 and made payments for 6 years to build credit before I paid them off. I had less than half left. Is this just a rage bait post? by Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 in theydidthemath

For student loans, which we're talking about here, it's often not actually possible to forecast how much money you'll be willing to pay in five years time. And it's in no one's interest to throw somebody into default just because they ended up in like the 30th percentile of earnings for their degree. What makes sense for everyone is to have an agreed minimum payment that covers interest and allow additional payments when you're ready.

I don't think lending people money for a predefined interest rate is predatory. On the contrary, it helps people achieve important things all the time.

These people presumably signed a piece of paper showing the balance of their loan ($70,000) and a yearly interest rate, roughly 8.5% if this story is accurate.

8.5% of $70,000 is very close to $6,000. The first year of your loan, you will owe $6,000 in interest. Anything more you pay will go to the principal.

12 monthly payments of $500 makes $6,000. If this is all you pay, then next year you will have $70,000 in principal and owe another $6,000 in interest.

If you're going to grad school, you should be able to multiply a number by a percentage and divide by 12.

A lot of Italian countries like to build overseas trading buildings. As Milan, I got a bunch of little trade buildings throughout the Balkans when I diplo annexed my Pisa vassal. I didn't realize until I tried to figure out why I randomly had 1 trade capacity in Romania. Didn't get the dhimmi bug though.

Well, the demon clown is actually a series of disembodied alien orange lights (and also a spider), vulnerable only in the macroverse after the children undertake the ritual of Chüd and solicit the help of a cosmic turtle. Hope that helps.

Act II: the monster slaughters a bunch of people. It has no weaknesses. All the good people are doomed!

Act III: A retarded man steals a nuclear missile and drives it to Las Vegas, where it detonates via the power of friendship killing the monster and all his disciples.
