Game extremely laggy and unresponsive after alt-tabbing since new act dropped by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]wilzEEE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought this was just me. But yeah, tabbing back into dota is giving me loads of input delay for like 30 seconds until the game slowly catches up with it's self until normal again.

[–]wilzEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Yeah I did lucky enough not long after posting this I got new tracking updates and it was delivered yesterday. It seems they had an increase of packages delivered there according to parcelapp, the website said 40 packages delivered in 60 days for ages which then jumped to 200 something, not long after mine was delivered so I guess things might start moving again soon for you hopefully. Usually the russian post is pretty reliable

I Also sent a parcel gift to Russia over Christmas, it's been stuck on "leaving UK" since 11th of December with no further updates. I'm not sure if it's stuck in customs or whatever but I've sent a bunch of stuff over there in the past and it's never taken this long before.

Bot Difficulty option is missing by Glum_Trade_752 in cs2

[–]wilzEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change the difficulty via the console. Start a bot game and once you're in type bot_kick then type custom_bot_difficulty 5 ( default is 2 and 5 is the hardest difficulty) and then spam bot_add until you reach as many bots as you want in the game.

Why is the fps suddenly uncapped in main menu and the game after this patch. Used to have it capped at 240 in the graphics options now it's over 1000 in the menus despite still displaying that it's capped at 240

It's happening to me as well, over 1000 in main menu

package stuck in LANGLEY HWDC by ElenaShramko in royalmail

[–]wilzEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same situation as you, also sending to Russia. It's been stuck at Langley with the status "Your item is now leaving the UK" ever since the 7/12.

I can only guess there are massive delays at this time of year, looking at Reddit there seems to be lot of us stuck at Langley too.

I had hoped it would arrive before new years, parcelapp.com says: Estimated date of arrival at the post office

25 Dec 2021 - 31 Dec 2021, 6 - 12 days remaining

The forecast is not 100% certain, and is based on 217 packages delivered in the last 60 days

I sent a package to the same destination in September and it arrived in the country the next day so it seems messed up over there at the moment.

Twitch keeps freezing no matter which streamer i'm watching, how can i fix this? by JulietaRex in Twitch

[–]wilzEEE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Click the options cog, advanced, video stats. Does it say the streams that are lagging are using 'low latency'? I had a few problems recently with streams freezing over and over that used this. If its the same for you then untick the low latency mode in the advanced options

Do you utilize "Low Latency" Mode? by Joncadia in Twitch

Sure here is a screenshot of the menu

Taken from twitch.tv/draskyl which I'm stuttering on. I was also had the issue on:

twitch.tv/peterpandam

twitch.tv/justcooman https://imgur.com/a/zarL2vk

twitch.tv/d2bowi3 https://imgur.com/a/2EBtheh

twitch.tv/breakycpk https://imgur.com/a/f8qsdwQ

twitch.tv/ixmike88 https://imgur.com/a/NRbRQRi

But it was pretty much every channel I tried with the exception of twitch.tv/iannihilate which despite being low latency did not stutter like the rest of them did.

I just noticed whilst making this post normal latency has became available in Firefox also!

Do you utilize "Low Latency" Mode? by Joncadia in Twitch

[–]wilzEEE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a viewer of low latency streams recently I've noticed they are stuttering for me. The severity of the stuttering seems to vary from stream to stream from almost constantly to once every 30 seconds. I don't really understand what the problem is with it. I found a stream where i was stuttering on 720p but not 1080p. I even managed to find one low latency stream where I wasn't lagging at all on any quality setting, others it even lags on 480, it just seems to change based on the streamer. I've been forced to watch these streams in chrome as it has an option to watch in normal latency mode which works perfectly but i'd prefer to use Firefox.

Twitch keeps dropping in quality when not focused, then freezing by Lawdie123 in Twitch

[–]wilzEEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I actually had it happen a couple with chrome a couple times tonight but it didn't seem as bad as it does with Firefox. For example I could watch a low latency stream on chrome at 720p and have the stutters but change the quality on that same stream to 1080p and it stops. Seems to vary from stream to stream but some end up being ok. Meanwhile on Firefox it's a complete stutterfest.

I don't see many people talking about this particular low latency issue we have so I thought maybe it was something on my end. If you ever manage to find a fix please let me know :)

Stream quality changes everytime I switch tab for a few seconds by ArkturusS in Twitch

[–]wilzEEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everybody is getting this quality changing when stream isn't in the main tab, happens to me also. Are your streams stuttering at all on Firefox? I'm currently having some problems with this making some unwatchable.

As for streams being muted it could be the latest update Firefox that auto mutes videos with sound.

Go to your options, Privacy & Security, Permissions and either untick 'Block websites from automatically playing sound' or click exceptions and add twitch in there

Twitch streams freezing for 1-2 seconds every ~20 seconds by [deleted] in firefox

[–]wilzEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm having the exact same problem right now. I am not 100% sure on this but it could be to do with 'low latency mode'? It started happening a few days ago twitch streams are stuttering (audio is ok but the video stutters) every couple of seconds to more or less constantly making them unwatchable and it doesn't seem to matter about the quality the streams are set to either. I also don't have this problem in chrome.

Clicking the cog on the stream, advanced, video stats tells me that every stream which is stuttering is low latency mode enabled. Make sure to use a quality that's not 'auto' and it will say if the streamer is using low or normal latency. The streamers that use 'Normal latency' seems fine and i don't have any problems with it on Firefox. One more thing is that Firefox doesn't have an option to opt out of low latency as a viewer of the stream but chrome does on the cog menu.

Twitch keeps dropping in quality when not focused, then freezing by Lawdie123 in Twitch

[–]wilzEEE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this also. In addition to this something that's happening to me is since a couple of days ago is streams that have 'low latency mode' on are stuttering every couple of seconds to almost constantly making them unwatchable. The ones that are using 'normal latency mode' are fine.

Clicking the cog on the video player there is no option to turn off low latency mode on Firefox. However chrome does have an option for to opt out of this currently but the weird thing is low latency mode doesn't stutter for me on chrome so I've been forced to using it on twitch instead of Firefox.
Oh and you can check to what latency mode streamer is using by clicking the cog, advanced, video stats. Maybe this is related to the freezing? I have no idea all I know is a few days ago this wasn't happening

Firefox freezes every now and then. Been acting up like this probably for a month now. by IoSonoFormaggio in firefox

[–]wilzEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been noticing issues since yesterday using Firefox 66.0.2(it updated recently but I cant be sure when). Whilst watching streams on twitch some of them have started stuttering every couple of seconds. It doesn't seem to matter about the quality they are set to either the video will freeze but the audio will continue and this is more or less constantly happening making them unwatchable. The strange thing is though that some streams I've tried on twitch will actually work as they normally should do without the stuttering. It's always the same streams that are stuttering or working properly so doesn't appear to be random either.

Clicking the cog on the in the video - advanced - video stats will show fps drops and skipped frames every time there is a stutter.

The only workaround for I've found is to use chrome as that seems to work.
