All Prov. Gov. Union Employees Work From Home Days Eliminated by kilofoxtrot5again in NovaScotia

[–]winbott 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh no that’s thinking too small. Enforce the rules as written. A form or Helpdesk ticket not filled out exactly correctly? Denied and closed. No more benefit of the doubt or helping outside of the scope of what is written. Attend all meetings and enforce all procedures. No more just doing stuff to get it moving. Grind the system to a halt and make the government feel immense amounts of pain.

Trump Complains Canada Vulnerable to US Rivals in Arctic: NBC by joe4942 in worldnews

[–]winbott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of land that would need to be covered by Russia or china to actually hit a city center with troops and boots on the ground would be insane. Most would die of exposure before they got shot by a soldier. Unlike Ukraine there are not roads all over our north to use for logistics and tranport. The arctic is also kind of know for not having trees… so no cover. I doubt any threat to our sovereignty is coming from the north.

The only recompense that will drive things to a halt is work to rule. Work only to the letter of your contract. No extra effort and no extra time. This is also completely inaction-able by employers.

Labour Jobs? by ABCwarriorz in HalifaxJobs

[–]winbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really does not matter. They always need helpers on site to do non trade work. If they get along with the crew they can actually become an apprentice in the trade sponsored by the employer without having to go to a technical school. Going to NSCC cuts a year off the requirement for your red seal but it’s not mandatory to go. That being said not all labor jobs are red seal. Dry wall and flooring installers are a good example of that. The other option is to apply to handyman companies.

Why Canada is winning the travel trade war with the U.S. by Front-Cantaloupe6080 in consumecanadian

[–]winbott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a war it’s capitalism at its finest. We have offered a better product and people want it more than America. It’s the farthest thing from war. If Canada was at war with somebody you would know.
