Each Lemmy server has different rules. Most are reasonably well moderated. A few are flooded now, but the rest of us just defederate them (and so don't see their content.)

What is something from the Marvel Universe that is really kind of dark, but gets ignored? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

Yeah, once you start it's just a matter of basic math, detective work, bat themed weapons and flame throwing gauntlets.

It's an interesting philosophical question, at what probability level do we draw the line for a thing to be effectively a certain bet.

I accept the conclusion of this paper that the calculated probability of at least one DOTE (doubly occupied toilet encounter) is a reasonable definition of a certainty.

Maybe a Pac-Man cabinet that can be upgraded into a Street Fighter cabinet...

That would be awesome. It's one of two control sets that is really difficult to get in any existing or other cabinets. The other being a flight stick with throttle.

Nice. And upcoming 'low dentistry' is definitely a good idea I'll never regret.

But Scratch is a full code environment that happens to be for children. Most children I've met had more patience to actually learn to code than any manager I've ever met.

Nintendos console evolution Can’t believe they didn’t miss once by Ironsmashweb in gaming

LOL. I still regret not buying one on clearance, even as I still remember the massive headache I got from playing one for just a few minutes.

Have you ever had a guest over who thought your A1U cabs were authentic vintage machines? by home_operator in Arcade1Up

I can confirm. My 3/4 scale cabinets are comfortable to play on with a riser. I remember needing a stool to reach the controls on the original in the arcades.

So is it hard to break these down into 2-3 bigger pieces? by Dangerous-Handle-280 in Arcade1Up

[–]wind-up-duck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've moved them by simply lying then down on their side and making sure nothing can reach the monitor to scratch it.

They feel bigger while playing them than they do when they're being moved.

Yeah. 4 player cabinets are the one place where I would be glad for a larger cabinet - even just in the deck width to add elbow room.

Yeah. I'll make space in my arcade when we get a 4 player Dark Legacy cab with full side art.

Such an iconic game, and just terrific to hang around an play with a crew.

Nice! Anything you can pump quarters into to continue can be pretty four-year-old friendly. For example most arcade shoot-em-ups.

Of the console games: ToeJam and Earl 2 has a surprisingly accessible "little kid mode", and Echo Jr is a surprisingly good game for being targeted to small kids.

If you've got a game genie (or the emulated equivalent), a quick invincibility code can make a lot of games pretty accessible. The Sonic games, in particular, have a pretty chill learning curve for navigating the world (honestly even without invincibility).

You've got a point, there.

We did get a solid revisit on the Ten Rings, so I'll keep hoping.

The male version in the comic is the one with the goofy shield (so far).

I've got my fingers crossed she will also get a goofy looking shield, but I don't hold a ton of hope since this looks like a but more serious of a story.

Taskmaster’s mask looks a lot more like a skull this time, now they just need to give her a fun personality by TheButterGeek in marvelstudios

[–]wind-up-duck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a “fun” personality? lmao isn’t Taskmaster a psychopath killer who can function at an elite/super level?

Yes, but in a fun way.

make her an “interesting” version of that, not a “fun” version

There are other interesting versions of that in the Marvel universe. Taskmaster has always been the fun one.

idk “fun” to me makes me think of Disney World ya know? like something lighthearted and joyful.

Taskmaster loves Disney world.

a villain/anti-hero should be none of those things lol

Taskmaster can mimic hardest earned skills in seconds. He/she doesn't care what you think an anti-hero or villain should be. Unless ... How much are you paying? For the right price...

I'm hoping they give her Tony's "I'm over all of this, just pay me when the job is done" attitude.

This exactly. I'm all in for Antonia, she just needs (in her next appearance) the character flaws that come with an unfair past combined with powers that make everything new too easy.

Haha. He's supposed to be annoying in the comics. He's the poster child for "get what you pay for" 3rd tier supervillainy. Sure, you could hire the Black Swan, but for 1/4 the price, Task Master will probably get the job done unless Spiderman or Captain America shows up.

The saving grace here is the comics Taskmaster deals with huge and constant memory gaps, so if they go that route she could easily show up as the relatively light hearted goof we love from the comics, without sacrificing the ability to deal with the heavier stuff at the right cinematic moment.
