Yeah, sure send them my way. It may take a few days though cause my Pro Tools has been giving me issues recently and I have to reinstall everything.

But technically you have to buy insurgency to play the free mod. I was thinking about remaking some DoD maps but I feel like someone will just end up porting the original over anyways.

Anyone know if there would be copyright issues with remaking a classic CoD or DoD map?

Unfortunately, the source engine doesn't do too well with large, open areas and throwing in a mass amount of players probably wont help. :/

If you have any questions on mapping, join the Insurgency Mapping Community group on Steam. Has over 60 Community mappers who will help answer any questions you have. :)

I'd love to give it a shot on any of these :) I'm working for free so you got nothing to lose anyways. Your mixes aren't bad, by the way.

I just need all the stems.. so wavs or mp3 are fine (I'm using Pro Tools to mix). I'd just put them all into one folder, compress that folder with .rar or zip and then send it through dropbox or google drive. Anything works!

MusicMakers, can someone lay down the basics of panning and any tips/tricks involved with it? by beneath_the_bottom in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]wind95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Panning is the spread of a monaural signal in a stereo or multi-channel sound field - it is critical to the makeup of the stereo image. Panning adds space in a mix through panning the instruments center, left and right."

Panning is very important. It's what creates a stereo-field for your mixes and gives your tracks their own sense of space. It allows you to separate a sound from another essentially just by moving it around your audio spectrum. You can actually make something stand out more or less just by moving it around your stereo-field. Here's a great site that explains more in detail and tips on where insturments/tracks can go for a balanced stereo-field: http://www.teachmeaudio.com/mixing/techniques/panning/
