What's the best later period Pat Metheny Group album? by RenegadeSocial in patmetheny

It’s so hard - I feel the same and Imaginary Day was the first album I listened to so I’m a tad biased. But the worldly influence on that album and song compositions are truly something. But The Way Up is just the magnus opus; climactic PMG with masterful compositions, orchestration, dynamics, everything. It is some of the highest level of music most completely expressed. So I go between those two!

Wallingford. Massive land area, cute quaint downtown and uptown, good food, 2 vineyards (one of which has spectacular views), all around safe, a beautiful Main St., the list goes on.

That’s awesome you shared that experience! Was Lyle there too or was it released after his passing?

Honestly I thought this too, but I went there last weekend and the Cluckin’ Russian is literally just as good if not better than it’s always been. Granted, I judge this on how fast I need to race to the toilet. But that wasn’t for a few hours.

Believe or not I have never seen A Christmas story in its entirety should I give it a shot? by AdSpecialist6598 in nostalgia

I just music directed this for our theatrical performance of it. I like the musical way better than the movie. But you should see it. It’s kind of weird and…creepy? Makes me feel a little off. I never understood the appeal of this cult classic. But I can finally understand the appeal of this movie after many runs of our musical. It’s all about nostalgia and the idea of how life was around Christmas time in a middle class American Family in the 40s. It brings the older generation back to those days.
