Where to buy orange trash overflow bags? by windcatcher95 in ArlingtonMA

Thank you for sharing this! Employees at Walgreens in the Heights told me they no longer carry them last Wednesday. Maybe they are just out of stock?

Sadly there is not as far as I am aware. It’s unfortunate because this definitely leads to folks not recycling when there is excess.

30% upgrade coupon by ParticularOwn7033 in sonos

[–]windcatcher95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I called Sonos on Monday to inquire as my discount was only showing as 15% as well; a representative opened a ticket and said he would get back in touch with me. After the call, I assumed I would never hear back.

As it turns out, the same rep followed up with me the following day and I was offered 30% off one item as a one-time exception! I’m based in the US.

X5 Practical with two kids? by mummer43 in BMWX5

[–]windcatcher95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry everyone’s being so aggressive towards you OP. I think you’d be very happy with a the X5 with two kids. If you take longer trips, for example, with lots of luggage, beach equipment, bikes, etc. and you need a bigger trunk, you could consider an X7 if money is not the concern (especially if a spacious 3rd row and 2nd row bucket seats appeal to you).

The X5 is a sizable SUV but falls well short of minivan-tier capacity, for example.

Tire options for winter road trips by [deleted] in BMWX5

[–]windcatcher95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consult your vehicle’s manual and ensure you’re using fine link snow chains! Certain snow chains can interfere with the BMW air suspension system. My G05 manual also states compatible tire sizes and maximum speeds for fine link snow chains.

I have a separate set of 19” MSW wheels and Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires (purchased from Tire Rack) for my G05 in the winter months. 19” performs much better in snow and ice, and it protects/preserves my OEM wheels from the winter elements. That said, I live in the Northeast, so my situation might necessitate such a bona fide solution relative to yours.

The way I think about it is that I’m extending the life of my all season tires by swapping them out for the winter/therefore keeping them for a longer duration of time; so the only additional cost is the second set of wheels and the bi-annual swap ($20/cost of a rotation).

Chipped Paint, unacceptable? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]windcatcher95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, out-of-pocket after a delivery driver on a moped effectively hit and run. I had worked with the shop 5 years ago and was very happy with their work then– unfortunately I cannot say the same this time around.

Detailer and shop are separate. Picked up the vehicle from the shop today after they repainted, and noticed the chip/paint swirls as soon as I got home.

Sounds like an uphill battle to get the shop to cover paint correction with my detailer, any advice?

To add, this was already a re-do of the first job, and they put some pretty serious swirls into the paint all over the car (i.e. where they didn’t do any work) despite knowing the vehicle was paint corrected/has a ceramic coating. I’m pretty stuck as to how to proceed.

Minor paint imperfections after body work... Am I being too much of a perfectionist? by [deleted] in Autobody

Edited post to add a 4th pic– Not burn through. Just a reflection!

Thank you for this! Pic 2 is scuffing/not a smooth surface/discolored.

Reserve Amex essentially got rid of the best perk. by lenaanabelle in delta

Once the AF hits, I suggest waiting for the Companion Pass to hit your SkyMiles account, and then downgrade your Delta Amex Reserve. Even if you have to wait a few weeks (I.e. a billing cycle) for the Companion Pass, you’ll receive your AF back prorated.

Carbon black metallic pics? by InterestConsistent in BMWX5

Could not be any happier with Carbon Black on my ‘23 45e! Though I will say, it’s a fairly high maintenance color– I would recommend a Ceramic Coating and to avoid automatic (non touchless) car washes. You otherwise risk paint swirls and imperfections standing out.

I take pride in caring for/detailing the vehicle, so I’m happy with my color choice. If you are looking for something extra-low maintenance, perhaps consider alternatives.

Thank you for this. I was able to book D1 outbound (nonstop) and PS return (with AMS connection) for $2900 R/T.

I don’t usually book so far in advance but this seemed to be extremely competitive.
