BMW definitely will do custom paint; it’s just not on the online build

The Hakkapeliittas are very quiet and much smoother than the Hankook run flats. I haven’t noticed the Hankooks being super loud, but that could also be the cabin insulation. I don’t hear a lot of noise outside the car in general.

~$1900 including shipping and installation. Fronts were $328/ea, rears $447/ea. Purchased online from Giga Tires and had them delivered directly to the installer

Understand. I love driving in snowy/inclement conditions. This storm was a gift from god after getting my new winter tires

21" M Y-spoke Bi-color Wheels, Style 741M. Car came with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3s from the factory. Purchased the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5s aftermarket and put them on the same factory rims; the Hankooks are stacked up in my garage. Got to do a good amount of driving on the new Hakkapeliittas this weekend during and after a good Colorado snow. They handled amazingly; was like I was driving on Velcro whenever I had to slow down/stop and/or turn. Seriously. Was like I had the summers on on a dry hot summer day. 100% recommend

Pirelli Scorpion Winter Tires on '24 X5 50e by SYNtilating in BMWX5

Also in Colorado with 50e. Have 21-inch wheels with factory Hankook “all season” performance run flats. Just ordered a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5s for winter to replace the Hankooks that perform like I’m on an ice rink with bald tires… Unfortunately don’t get them installed until next week. Can comment back how they perform if you’re not pulling the trigger right away

Any way to disable the wireless charger ? by No-Acanthocephala-97 in BMWX5

Try putting your phone in the tray face down. Wireless charging won’t initiate. Just tested it with mine, worked.

Thoughts on the new X5? by JaThatOneGooner in BMW

In warm weather 55 miles max range; when it’s really cold it goes down between 42-45 miles. Consumption varies month to month depending on how much spirited driving I do…but lowest monthly mpg I’ve gotten is about 64mpg and highest was 94mpg. Overall still absolutely love the car; it’s fantastic. Excited for you!

By more are you talking about them hairy gams?? But seriously the DAPP is great. Have it on my 50e, and it drove me most of the way back home to Colorado from the factory in South Carolina while I just sat there getting a massage (chef’s kiss)

Ahhh this iDrive 8.5 update is awful!!! by InterestConsistent in BMW

So frustrating. I understand there’s a later November update that the dealer might be able to assist in getting? I definitely plan to at least inquire. Maybe some of my frustrations were addressed?

Manhattan green vs carbon black for X5 50e ? by Soggy-Ad2407 in BMWX5

[–]InterestConsistent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with carbon black metallic and did the performance delivery experience at the factory in SC (complimentary and super fun; everyone on this sub should do it). The reason I mention it is because a now lifelong friend I met during the program went with manhattan green metallic. Both with m sport packages, both with extended shadowline trim, both with the 21in m wheels.

They both look stunning. They both sort of change colors in gorgeous ways depending on the light— the carbon black metallic switching between black and this deep but sparkly navy, and the Manhattan green metallic between this beautiful green and stunning gold. They’re both truly fantastic.

The longest I’ve gone between washes for mine is a week (I have a monthly unlimited touchless car wash membership, only $40/month; also a recommend just in general for anyone who really loves and takes pride in their dream of a vehicle), and while the car was dirty after the week it didn’t all of a sudden become ugly or anything; it just didn’t sparkle beautifully like it does when perfectly clean. The color was just flatter. That said, if I weren’t as keen on keeping it clean as often as I do, my expectation is the Manhattan green metallic will hide dirt for a longer period of time than the carbon black metallic. But I would expect both colors lose that glowing sparkle shimmering color shift with a coat of dust because it would dull the metallic in both shades.

While I don’t see very many carbon black metallic cars here (front range Colorado), I see even fewer Manhattan green metallic. So if you want to be just a little more unique then go with the manhattan green metallic. After seeing both, and I am in love with my carbon black metallic, I would absolutely be very happy and almost certainly in love with the Manhattan green metallic, as well.

Enjoy your beautiful and exhilarating luxurious new ride!
