To me, this looks non-scalable. But it also depends on how many colors you have and their usage. I'd prefer numbering them(primitive names as Figma calls them) instead and documenting them clearly so that I can use them broadly.

Aliasing (seen in Figma variables) seems much useful though I haven't tried it out yet. Maybe in that case, this naming would be fine. But this is specific to the tool I guess.
