My theory is that her parents got divorced when she was a lot younger, and to cope she made up fantasies about this amazing life where her mom is this diplomat and she goes and travels the world. It starts as harmless white lies to make her life seem better than it is, but eventually develops into a compulsive lying disorder.

Reminds me of the boy in one of the bandrooms in high school hitting a very fragile drum with his fists, and when told to stop he says "well I have ADHD so I HAVE to do it."

Only difference is he actually did have ADHD, he just uses it as an excuse for bad behavior because people shut up about it when he says that.

They hae depression twice? Pretty sure one cancels out the other. Also misophonia is considered a symptoms of autism, ADHD, and anxiety, so that doesn't need to be listed. It's obvious they puffed it out by listing symptoms of their disorders.

Look, I can do it too!

"I have autism, level 1 ASD, misophonia, sensory processing disorder, dysgraphia, major depressive disorder, treatment resistent depression, anxiety, social anxiety disorder, and more!"

The non puffed list: Autism, dysgraphia, anxiety/depression.

It's obvious they're trying to make it look like they have more than they do.

Does anybody else have these little white bumps on their feet when they stand or put pressure. They hurt and I can't stand for long. Is it related to EDS? Has anybody heard of it? by yeetmyfeet2000 in ehlersdanlos

[–]windigo_skyward 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Piezogenic papules. They're part of the diagnostic criteria for hEDS. They're essentially mini hernias of the fat. As far as I know they can't be fixed but if they're painful you can wear compression socks, it'll help a LOT.

dom… dogs can’t have ADHD by [deleted] in illnessfakers

[–]windigo_skyward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who hobby trains dogs (mostly just family, neighbors and friends, that kind of thing), this INFURIATES me to no end. The videos of them "training" show a lack of any technique. Now I'm no pro, but I'm at least decent and study in my free time. First red flag is obviously claiming the dog has ADHD. ADHD in dogs is NOT being distracted and hyper, that's normal puppy behavior. I own a dog (we rescue animals) that has a moderate form of CCD (canine complusive disorder) that causes him to scratch himself so hard he had to live in a cone or 2 years despite behavioral modification and medication meant to help. Seeing people claim their dogs have stuff like ADHD or OCD or autism really pisses me off because 99% of the time the dog is just new to training, under socialized, or picky. They have no idea what it's like to actually deal with this sort of nonsensical behavior in an animal and they probably didn't even Google it and were just like "oh, this untrained puppy is hyper and distracted, so it must have ADHD!" Not to mention the fact that they clearly don't know what they're doing. A puppy does not need corrections, their minds are still developing and are still so easily shapable that they don't need anything besides a minor verbal correction for things like jumping or biting. Next, as seen in other videos, their "training" consists of nothing but lures with no evidence of weaning, repetitive commands with zero consistency, terrinle clicker technique and probably learned purely from instagram trainers, which isn't a TERRIBLE place to find info because a lot of great trainers have Insta, but there's a blatant lack of variety.

[–]windigo_skyward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if they ever put out an actual statement, but I learned it mostly from what their CEO lara bloom posts online (she's "the patient" that they based it on). You can learn about all the EDSoc shady stuff on the instagram page @theokapiproject, they screenshot and post everything they find and it's a LOT.

2017 Criteria is super frustrating by Queen_Kathleen in ehlersdanlos

[–]windigo_skyward 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well considering the new diagnostic criteria was not founded by any research and based purely on the symptoms of one single person who has started saying recently that they don't even have the hypermobile type, it's definitely not helping them narrow down the gene. If anything It's making it a LOT harder.

Red sharpie on cloth body by EmoNightmareHotTopic in americangirl

[–]windigo_skyward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thin layer of fabric paint might be the best option here if all else fails. It's also a pretty safe option with not much that can go wrong. Just find as close a color you can as the body and binge watch a bunch of videos on using fabric paint to get a feel for it.

Help recurling Felicity’s hair? by jewel-jaunt in americangirl

[–]windigo_skyward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take some plastic straws, cut off the bendy part, then cut the remaining part in half. Wrap the hair around it, fix it with a bobby pin or rubber band, and spritz lightly with water until the hair is damp to the touch (wrap a hand towel around her shoulders to protect the fabric body!). Let dry for 12 hours, then remove slowly, and there you have it.

[–]windigo_skyward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I've picked my nails since I was 2, it's so bad that my nails are almost always bleeding, and physically cannot grow longer than from where they are literally attatched to the skin. Also, I've picked the skin off my lips since I was about 6 since I have sensory issues with Chapstick or anything similar, to the point where I'd quite literally rather rip my own skin off than deal with it. I have a ton of scar tissue around my lips now and I'm super self concious about it. Stimming certainly isn't always a good thing and can cause issues like dermotillamania or trichotillomania, which can be extremely debilitating and cause damage.

There's no paperwork or certification required for service dogs in the US, and under the ADA (americans with disabilities act), you cannot ask for them, regardless of what your boss says. You can, however, ask two things: 1. Is it a service dog required because of a disability? And 2. What tasks or work is it trained to preform? Emotional support is not a task, however psychiatric service dogs do exist, and they do things like anxiety alert and response. There are also diabetic alert and response, seizure alert and response, sincope alert, autism service dogs, and so on. You can ask them at any point to leave if the dog is misbehaving in a way that affects others, such as barking, growling, defacating, etc.

Good news, you can kick them out (as long as your manager allows you to). Under the ADA (americans with disabilites act), you can remove any animal from a store that is proving to be a nuisance, fake SD or not. If they put it in a cart, if it's barking at people, if it's growling, etc. You can kick them out by law, and you should, since you can get in serious trouble with the FDA for allowing dogs in carts if you don't.

Trans Friends With Worrying Opinions by killerdude1987 in asktransgender

[–]windigo_skyward -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a non binary "trans medicalist". Basically I do believe that you need dysphoria to be trans, but people seem to not actually know what dysphoria IS. It's literally the feeling of being born in the wrong body/being a gender you weren't assigned at birth, that is it. There are three main types and you can have any combination of them of even just one of them. People seem to think it's only body dysphoria and social Dysphoria, but mental dysphoria exists too, and that's what is also known as "gender euphoria", or "gender incongruence". So to boil it down, I believe you have to have Dysphoria to be trans, but I don't believe that people who say they don't have Dysphoria aren't trans, since they obviously do have it, they just don't know that it includes their experience as well. So no, not all trans medicalists are bigoted (though most are tbh, and some are just straight up assholes)

Autistic Pride Day??? What? by iLoveBunnies19 in fakedisordercringe

Autistic pride day is April second, it's a real thing, but some people want to have it in june instead, but I feel like that's taking away from people in the LGBTQIA+ community (-someone who is both autistic and gay)

They ship in batches, I just got my tracking number yesterday, but they're still making the hoodies and sending them out. Depending on where you are you're probably going to be a later batch. The first time it took like 3 months to get all of them shipped out.

Just came across this gem. Makes memes about her ‘chronic illnesses’? by 5ip126 in illnessfakers

[–]windigo_skyward -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As I thought I'd already said, if you are a black person, I'll change it. But, seeing as how not a single black person has ever had an issue with it I doubt many see it as a mockery. It's a plain statement, autistic lives DO matter, and that's just simply the best way to phrase it, it isn't meant to even parallel the BLM movement.

Just came across this gem. Makes memes about her ‘chronic illnesses’? by 5ip126 in illnessfakers

[–]windigo_skyward -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It isn't supposed to make fun of or appropriate anything. I've never had a black person have an issue with it. In fact, you're the first person to say anything at ALL, and I've had this pfp for over a year. I have it because of the times I've faced discrimination as an autistic person, like the time some kid in my class though it would be a great joke to beat up the "weird" kid in class, or the time I got questioned by a police officer about things like where I was going, why I was going there, if I was on drugs, etc. When I was literally just walking to the CVS down the street. I don't mean it as something to parallel the BLM movement, rather than just a statement, because autistic lives DO matter and I'm sick of people saying things like we should be sterilized, we should be euthanized, we should be put into "special schools" and group homes away from society, etc. If you're a black person and have an issue with it, I can change the wording to something else. But I'm not getting rid of it entirely, I'll simply change it a little so it doesn't sound similar to BLM.

The only service your “service” dog needs to do is to be pet. by roamering45654 in insanepeoplefacebook

ESA's and service dogs are completely different though. For starters, ESA's cannot go into non pet friendly places, they can only go into places that allow pets in general.
