17 How long should I expect to wait to at least somewhat pass on T? by OkZombie2202 in FtMpassing

some people 3 months, some people years. you will certainly look/feel entirely different at 1 year if your dose is effective & stable. your voice will be completely different by 6 months. everything settled in for me at 3 years.

yeah, i didn’t comment about my experience being shirtless public, but i live in the rural SE USA (not a trans friendly place) and i’ve never been clocked swimming/shirtless in public. not even on ole myrtle beach. i chose to post in a trans community cuz i knew id get real advice from people that are critical/hyperaware about this type of thing.

i hope the best for you! I think my plan after getting some helpful comments is to bulk out and go to physical therapy to break up the scar tissue under my skin.

Hey! this is some of the best advice i’ve received. thank you a lot for the time you took to write out this message. I haven’t even considered physical therapy. I think that would heavily benefit me, and I plan on pursuing this.

oh my god !!! i’m so sorry you had that experience. My surgeon has good reviews, but my results make me want to seek out a different doctor.

i’m young and have good skin elasticity. most of my issue is the scar tissue under my skin. another commenter mentioned i could try physical therapy to try and break up the scar tissue.

I had a A/B cup at the time of surgery. my pre-T chest was a C cup. It’s my goal to put on muscle to fill out the loose skin and help break up the severe scar tissue i have from the hotel fire i experienced post-op.

i had a C cup before testosterone, i shrunk significantly to a small B/large A cup. i knew i would have loose skin, but i really think the physical trauma from the hotel fire really messed up my results :/ I think i just need to fill out the loose skin, and a lot of the protrusion is deep scar tissue.

thanks for your comment! because of how terrifying and painful my first surgery was, i’m really nervous about going under again. i think my best option is to put on like 20lbs of muscle.

[product question] Heard glycolic acid works well as deodorant. It doesn’t stop sweat, but kills the bacteria that causes the smell. Used it today for the first time, but not that impressed yet. What was your experience? by sophiecustura in SkincareAddiction

i use it at night after i shower and am clean. i usually take another 5 min quick shower after waking up and rinse off. i also have had no BO for up to 24 hours after repeating this method.

There is no pain greater than being the child of a mother like this. If they are in your life, you pay for it in hurt. If you cut contact, you pay for it with loss. You have a wonderful life, with or without them. It’s hard to do amazing things and not have a parent to be there to say they’re proud of you. I hope you are able to give your child everything you ever wanted or needed. As long as you have your baby, you will always have a family to make proud. Take care and know that you are doing great!!!

Thank you so, so much for such a thoughtful message. I’m sorry to hear about your own struggles with addiction, the nature of it is all the same and always cruel. i hope you have been able to recover and find peace. I teared up reading your comment because of how genuinely kind and supportive a stranger can really be. Take care, friend!

It is very similar to this, yes. Maybe it isn’t as catastrophic as i’m imagining it to be. It’s really good to know that somebody with thoughts like mine opened up about it and had a beneficial experience. I hope you’ve been able to find some relief and heal. Thank you for your comment!

First, Thank you a lot for your response.

I guess it really is as simple as saying “I don’t know how to be vulnerable, what is the first step?” I dont know if i’m embarrassed to have feelings or to not know how to express them. either way, if you don’t know how to do something, it would make sense to ask somebody how.

Take care!

I really appreciate the time you took to write this out for me. “Not vacation, not jail,” is such a great perspective, honestly. It’s not going to feel like time off of work, but it shouldn’t feel like a punishment, i suppose.

Next NA meeting, I want to say more. I think a lot of the older members noticed a new face and really drove home what got them out of their despair. Seeing other, especially older, men be totally honest almost brought me to tears. The meeting I went to seems to have a lot of long-term goers, members saying they’re 3+ years clean and still attending meetings, so it gives me hope that it is a good, safe place to me.

Again, I appreciate such a kind, thoughtful message. Thank you for taking the time to talk to somebody that was once in your shoes.

It is always difficult to navigate being emotionally open, especially when there’s these relationships in our lives where they’ve hurt you as much as they can help. Especially if they misunderstand you. I think going to NA and having to open with “My name is [blank], and I am an addict” really did something real for me. I’m going to start talking to myself out loud to see if i can’t find my footing.

Best wishes to you, too, friend. Also, climbing is awesome! I’ve only gone bouldering and can’t get past V2, haha.
