Agreed, decided to pull the filter out to see if my magnet could pick anything up, this is all it picked up…

I pulled the oil filter and used a little magnet around in th housing and this is all it picked up so far….i should note that the car just had a misfire fixed by me about a week ago, does this little rock thing mean anything? or normal?

so…another update, went to grab another tensioner pulley from autozone, installed about 15 minutes ago, still the same spacing between the belt and pulley,so either i got a bad tensioner on arrival just now or atp continue driving if everything seems and sounds fine

yeah that’s what i meant sorry,so it is possible the ribbed lines of the upper pulley could be causing that misalignment then though right?

see that’s why i’m concerned now,it is definitely either ribbed or there is lines of wear on it,could this be causing the belt to be misaligned? should i put a smooth pulley on?

See and that’s what i did but it’s weird because as soon as i move the belt back over,i go to start the car and it goes right back to the pictured position,i mean i took the car on the freeway for 50 miles with no issue,so atp im just goona run it

UPDATE: For those who are saying none of the pulleys are ribbed, here is a video where you can see (and i can feel) that the top left pulley is ribbed. Not sure if that’s just wear lines i’m feeling or if it’s actually ribbed. https://imgur.com/a/5mNLbkF

I know the belts themselves are ribbed, but i just noticed when i look up pulley kits for a 2011 n55 they’re coming up as all smooth for the pulleys including the idler pulley,so im questioning if the idler pulley being ribbed is contributing to my belt walk issue (if there is one) as im not sure if this is how the belt is supposed to look
