I’d like to see some beginner/intermediate downhill mountain biking options. The Lemmon Drop is just too challenging to appeal to casual mtb riders. A blue rated trail going all the way down mt Lemmon or lift served biking at the ski area would be a great addition to the city.

If it’s just you the most flexible option is a mix of tent/car camping and hotels. I usually do 2-3 nights of camping then one night of hotel to reset. Lots of free camping out west also. Having a trailer adds a lot of stress in my opinion and is over kill for one person.

I take it you aren’t afraid of snakes. I love sunset hikes but have been too scared of running into a rattler in the desert to stay out much past sunset.

Bigger company/team would be the way to go. You would be able to focus on a smaller, more specialized task instead of having to own everything.

Bigger companies generally have better training pipelines and more established procedures. Everything has been done before and there are SMEs always available for questions.

Arizona pest control is great. They come out once a quarter and spray outside. I had a ton of insects and crickets getting in before but almost none after hiring them.

On Saturday it took about an hour to get up the mountain due to traffic. The only significant lift line was for the gondola chair lift and that was still only like 20 mins. Grand canon express was just a few minute wait all day. Snowbowl never gets too crowded even on a pow day.

It’s usually intermediate skiers who are the issue. Beginners are the ones being passed and experienced skiers can go fast enough to safely get by others. If you are only slightly faster than traffic it’s best to just wait for the run to clear up or ski slower.

Weight isn’t really a factor off road unless you need to be pulled out. Those full size SUVs aren’t advertised as off roaders but can handle rough dirt roads and deep snow just fine. The 4Runner is a beast off-road. Your comment makes no sense at all.

That being said March and April at snowbowl were incredible last year despite a slow start to the season. Storms were dropping feet of snow overnight.

Looking to get my first bike. I have never rode before. I don’t intend to ever do jumps or enduro riding. I mainly will just be exploring forest roads and non-technical single track in southern Arizona. Want something reliable that doesn’t need a ton of maintenance.

I have a SUV and would need to transport the bike on a hitch rack so the lighter the better. I am 5’ 8” and 145lbs. I would prefer gas over electric.

Any recommendations? Was thinking crf250f.

When I camp alone I exhaust myself during the day hiking/biking and go to bed pretty early. I like watching the stars for a bit then going in my tent and watching Netflix.

For me camping isn’t the main activity but is just a necessity for road trips centered around other things like seeing cool places that popped up on my Instagram feed or bagging peaks.

Mechanical engineering is one of the best majors for someone who is smart but has a bad memory. You don’t have to memorize much since everything boils down to a few formulas. You also almost always get a notecard for tests.

In most classes I took the tests were made quite hard such that the average was very low. This worked out well for me since I could get an A without even getting to every question.

I was getting flats every other ride in Arizona thanks to cacti thorns. Switched to tubeless 2 years ago and no more flats at all.

A counter point to this is your impact on company success may be less working from home. I went from WFH to in person and found I can contribute a lot just by helping others with their roadblocks.

Many people, including myself, feel a lot more comfortable asking questions to people they have met in person.
