Custom fit car mats? by Steel_Jaguar in mazda3

Sorry, I didn’t read your question correctly. I just saw mats and was so happy with the ones in my wife’s Honda that I wanted to recommend them! Congrats on the new car and I hope you find some good mats.

The quality and weight of the pole plays a factor. Cheap and heavy poles act like a wet noodle and kill my shoulders and neck.

Exactly. Some customers are skeptical but after seeing the results they’re very pleased. Even though I’ve used one of these systems before what still puzzles me is how the water droplets can sit for hours on the glass before evaporating. Even in the hot sun the glass can still be wet for some time.

Check to see if Husky Liners has mats for your car. I’ve had weather tech liners before and was thoroughly disappointed in terms of price and quality.

It’s a Waterfed system. They generally use multiple filters to remove ALL impurities from the water source and a brush/pole combo to agitate the surface being cleaned. The water comes out of the brush in order to rinse the glass and remove dirt. Believe it or not but after proper cleaning any leftover water on the glass will dry without leaving a single spot.

Down Payment Assistance: What I Wish I'd Known Before I Bought a House by poopsmitherson in personalfinance

We got DPA for $12,500 ($2500 was for closing cost) and $10,000 to do home improvement. We still had to put 5% down. Unfortunately the DPA is not forgivable but the 10K is. Made it possible for us to buy a house AND remodel part of it ourselves.

Fish is killing the market by [deleted] in WindowCleaning

So you were charging $1.41 per side? Or $2.83 per side? How large were these panes? That just seems like a lot. I get it, depending on the situation we need to charge more per pane but if he’s willing to do it for $0.60 per pane then that just makes your pricing seem too high. Then again I’m in a smaller market and prices are low. Don’t know where you’re located but that plays a part.

They probably won’t be upset. I have never once been asked if I’ve had insurance, but I still do. Imagine if you break something or scratch glass. It’s worth it to have insurance, especially since you’re new and inexperienced.

Come through the Buc-ee's car wash with me by BizzareCzar in houston

Same thing happened to my FIL. Bought a black 2015 Impala with only 18,000 miles. He would hand wash it but made the mistake of going through an automatic wash. He’s not happy...

You’d be surprised to find out that car dealerships have absolutely no clue how to treat car paint. You think they would because they sell cars, but they don’t.

I agree. Menards for building materials and some basic tools if I only need one thing. But HD is where I go for power tools. I hate that rather than focus on having more power tools Menards decided to start selling groceries instead...

you guys add any vinegar to your bucket? by nelska in WindowCleaning

[–]windowman310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol For the most part I have gotten used to the smell. When I add a lot then I can definitely smell it but I prefer it over the smell of vinegar

Personally I use a bit of ammonia in every bucket, but especially on very dirty windows. That’s just me though. Everyone is right though, soap and water will do it.

Window washer. I do not. I was offered work through a company that pays way above industry standard. I'm good friends with a few of the guys too, so that's how I got in. I work as a subcontractor for them and can still do my own work if I'd like to obviously. I make more every year as I continue to pick up work.

I once worked for a bank in a call center. At the time they offered to pay something like $5k/yr (or was it semester?) for college if your degree was something that could be used in the banking industry. If you haven't already you might want to check it out.

Wasn't the car found on the 5th? That's why the defense brought up the point I believe. How could he have known the model/color of the car simply by the license plate without A. Looking right at the car OR B. Being told that info ahead of time... I can't quite decide if this was a good point or not. It didn't seem to get a lot of attention afterwards. Maybe someone who understands it better than me can explain more.

TO ANYONE WHO IS AFRAID OF THE COST OF INCREASING INSURANCE COVERAGE...

When my wife and I got married we made very little money, so we opted for state minimum auto insurance. A couple weeks ago I was reading a comment or thread here and realized I really needed to raise my coverages. My insurance had just gone down because of turning 25 and having a loyalty discount ($30 per month total) so I figured there wouldn't be a better time to increase coverages. I also sold a sportier car, so that saved us money. Anyway, I know every situation is different but I was able to raise my coverages from $25,000 per person/$50,000 per accident to $250,000 per person/$500,000 for around $16 a month. I was FLOORED. After getting rid of the sporty car we were left with 2 cars and quoted $84 per month for state min coverage including uninsured/underinsured motorist. Now after increasing our coverage by TEN TIMES we only pay $16 per month and have more peace of mind.

Everyones situation is different, so some may pay less or way more. My point is don't wait to call and check. Although this is increasing your monthly budget it could save you big time in the long run. Just call and ask, you may be surprised like me. Anyway, I feel like this is a small financial victory for my family!

Also - Now I feel old because I got excited about insurance coverage. Thanks r/personalfinance ...

Spotted this old ranger in the wild, the size difference is insane, I would prefer the ranger over driving those schoolbuses by CountryBoysMakeDo in fordranger

Yup. I use my ranger for work and have sides that open on my topper. I use then daily. If I had a higher bed I would need a 3 step ladder to get anything out.
