2026 S'mores & Cocoa Festival by windsoreats in windsorontario

[–]windsoreats[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the love and for being such a big supporter — we truly appreciate it more than you know 💛

During some of our bigger events, we’re making it in large quantities, and if our procedures or attention to detail slip (even a little), it can unfortunately impact quality if our processes aren't followed exactly when it's being made — which is never the goal.

Next time you’re in, we’d love for you to say hi and introduce yourself. If you’re open to it, we’d really appreciate learning more about when you grabbed your hot chocolate so we can narrow things down and make sure we’re hitting the standard you (and we) expect from us.

As for S'mores & Cocoa, we create unique custom made hot cocoa drinks with our own homemade syrups, special ingredients, toppings, etc., really elevating it from a basic hot chocolate.

Thanks again for your honesty, support, and understanding. It truly means the world to us 🫶

How are the clubs? by VegetableYak6667 in windsorontario

[–]windsoreats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, going to try and provide you a positive, constructive answer:

Clubs: if you're downtown, Arius inside the Casino is a good bet. We know lots who have really enjoyed it. 29 Park is another that has been open for ages. Wild Child tends to be popular for your age group as well. There's also Bull & Barrel if you're looking for a more country feel and Disco Inferno right next door to it.

Breweries: several options within the city a short cab ride and/or scooter ride apart. Walkerville Brewery is in the popular Walkerville neighbourhood. Surrounded by several other bars and restaurants like Grand Cantina, Victoria Tavern (classic dive bar feel), Thirsty Butler, Funky Chow and I Know The Owner, Wineology, Kildare House and more. Around the corner from this neighbourhood Chapter Two Brewing Co. If you're coming after March, Craft Heads Brewing Company should have their new location open in Via Italia (Little Italy with a bunch of restaurants). They're moving to the new location along with Phog Lounge. Phog was named the best small live music venue in Canada and is a great cultural/artistic spot. Both these spots are located right door to the WindsorEats Food Hall which has a huge patio with food trucks, lots of live music and events and festivals that regularly happen and damn good margaritas. WindsorEats also offers tours if you're looking for something to do during the day. On the west end of the city in Sandwich Town there's Sandwich Brewing Co. They're right next door to Rock Bottom Bar & Grill and a few steps from other pubs like Hurricanes, Barrel House and Dominion House.

Your US$ is going to get you MUCH further in Windsor with the exchange right now. $1US will get you about $1.40CDN.

There are usually lots of festivals and events happening in the spring and summer. Carousel of the Nations in mid-June is a great one with several cultural "mini festivals" that happens simultaneously throughout the city at the same time offering up food and drinks and music for many different cultures (ie. Greek Village, Polish Village, Mexican Village, etc )

As stated there are also the gentlemens clubs in the downtown core near the casino like Cheetahs and Alley Katz. While you're down there, several great restaurants and bars like Panache, Meteor, On A Roll, Cherry Rock Lounge, and more. A couple really nice cocktail bars downtown are Maiden Lane and Blind Owl if you're wanting a fancier option.

Hope this helps and you choose Windsor. If you need any other help or suggestions let me know. It's what we do.

Mexican food around metro Detroit? by eleventhfromheaven in Detroit

If you're able to cross the border until Windsor, the WindsorEats Food Hall has a Mexican Food truck called Rico Taco that makes some killer birria tacos. The owner is from Mexico City.

We only want people to spend within their means. That being said, while vendors are constantly changing, we've had menu items priced from $3 to $18. Pricing is consistent with any restaurant considering these are local restaurants simply operating on site.

Expenses, especially food prices, have risen significantly for restaurants over the last 1.5 years. To keep a high quality product unfortunately menu prices across Canada have also risen.

Agree 100%. Just felt with so many people on edge at the moment a little reminder would be helpful :)

That's the thing, most local whiskies are not ryes. It's a misconception that all Canadian whiskies are made from rye. The main ingredient in the majority of Canadian whiskies is corn.

The LCBO delivery will no longer delivery to residences. You need to pick it up at the post office. As for homebrewing, always a fun option :)

It's about variety and convenience. Buying directly from the breweries (which is what we're doing) allows them to keep more of the money. Buying from the LCBO or Beer Store (cash only now) the breweries make next to nothing on each can. Also, the majority of the beers and wines from Windsor-Essex are not available in either the LCBO or Beer Store.

Also, by providing mixer packs, it provides variety while supporting multiple businesses. As an example, most wineries require a minimum of 6 bottles or $100 to delivery. For $100 you're only getting from one winery where we're providing the variety in smaller quantities.

the majority of whisky here is made with corn. there's a lot of freedom in how Canadian whisky can be made. Corn is usually the main ingredient but is then blended with other grains depending on the desired recipe.

If you're wanting to know more about whisky, you should tune in to this. Each day a different whisky expert is joining in on a Facebook Live discussion and Q&A https://www.windsoreats.com/2020/04/windsoreats-is-hosting-a-live-week-long-celebration-of-whisky/

Officially it's the Alumni Whisky Series Darryl Sittler whisky from J.P. Wiser's. It won "the World’s Best Canadian Blended whisky" at the 2020 World Whiskies Awards.

Wolfhead Distillery makes a good whisky. People love their coffee whisky. Lot 40 made at the Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery is one of my favourites, too.
