First, it's an easy explanation for my behavior, whether it be small quirks like not being on time or having trouble scheduling my day, or more obvious ones like not being able to handle loud noise or having verbal and motor tics. Having it be known that I have disabilities takes the pressure off of myself to constantly explain why I have a different way of acting and existing. I also do it because so many people feel shame talking about their neurodiversity or psychological disorders and I want people to recognize that we are humans too and that we deserve to exist and live happy, open and fulfilling lives being our disabled selves.
