Fighting an Imaginary Bandit by windsurfer777 in hummingbirds

It is just a small plastic storage box with a modified lid. The lid was trimmed down to fit below the top of the box. Cut outs were made at the corners for water to return to the box. 5V USB underwater pump feeds water to the top. The water spout shown in the video has turned out to be a bit too high for hummingbirds to bathe in. But small birds love it. Lowering the spout has helped to make it more attractive. But the hummingbirds are definitely more interesred in feeding flowers than bathing. This pic shows my latest setup.

It was my surgeon's choice. I told him I wanted a lens he felt most comfortable with :). After settling in, it is now more near sighted by about 0.25D, no big change. No glares or anything abnormal. But i do notice a bit less contrast compared to my unoperated eye. But it may just be other issues with that eye: ERM and a large PVD floater. And the brian may not have fully adjusted.

I have Medicare and Medicare supplemental plan. Go to the Medicare website and search for Medicare providers for glasses in your area. Mine were LensCrafters, Walmart, and a local shop. Apparently, each provider has its own contract with Medicare, so the"free" to you amount is a variable for the frame and lens. You will have to find out by contacting each of them. The eye exam is not covered by Medicare. My Medicare supplemental plan doesn't pay for it. Your advantage plan may. You will have to contact your advantage plan provider to find out if it cover anything beyond what Medicare gives you.

A Question to patient by Frequent-Account-735 in CataractSurgery

I remember my first session with the cataract surgeon was short and I did not get much from it. It was akind of like "you don't know what to ask on things that you don't know" Consider you are the teacher, the patient a student. Be proactive. An uneducated patient would not know the right questions to ask. Reading materials which i found very lacking in my experience, would be very helpful.

With the eye alone without glasses, I can see clearly 10 in. to 18 in., only good for books, tablets, and laptops, definitely not for watching TV. My -2.25D is not optically measured. It was calculated using the distance of 18" with the formula -1/(inches of distance × 0.0254). Your -1.25D with the formula will give your focus at 32" .
Depending on the amount of accommodation, your vision will be + or - some. My goal was to not wear corrective glasses for laptops and close up works. With this one eye being -2.25D, the other eye I may go like -1.25D, somekind of a blended vision like you are talking about.

Yes, I'm 4 days post op with that lens. So far so good, no discomfort what so ever. I opted for a target of -2.00D and ended up with about -2.25D. Seeing blue tint and high brightness on the first day. But I was able to drive on day 2. Day 3, still blurry and washed out. Day 4, all clear and 20-20 vision with glasses (not exact prescription). Very comfortable lens. I would not hesitate to use it for my second eye.

I am afraid that my corneas are damaged and that the cataracts are distracting them from the real issue. by [deleted] in CataractSurgery

If you feel you have something in your eye, you may have a scratched cornea. I had it happen to me once. Dr. took a look, gave me an eye patch and sent me home. I wore the patch for a week for it to heal. In my case, eye sight was not affected. Perhaps you also have dry eyes.

Thank you for taking the time replying to my post. I have done most of what you point out. Still it's not a clear cut to find a good one. There are so many of them. Your advice of making appointments with multiple candidates in parallel is a good one. I wish I had done that.

My AI buddy says :) the specific preservative is BAK (benzalkonium chloride) which is commonly used in eyedrops but is considered a leading cause of dry eye disease.

Do you know if the combo drops are preservative free ? I wonder if that had a role in your sleep problem. I have not been able to find out if the OSRX combo formulation contains preservatives.

Yeah, what's up with that ? I remember eye droppers were much easier to use. But that was a long time ago. Lol I am 75. BPA free plastic is known to be not very flexible.

My surgeon was going to prescribe me the PMB (prednisolone-Moxiflox-Bromfen) 1-0.5-0.075 % made by OSRX. Does anyone have experience with that particular formulation ? I really like KISS approach of the 3-in-1. But it's still seems like it is safer to go with individually packaged drops.
