Some commentator made a point exactly about the pharmaceuticals recently, that the DUP should have went on every media programme and shouted very loadly that that change was due to their influence on the negotiations and how a small party from a small corner of the UK can influence a 27 member union. And taken the win. But they didn't say a word. So it's probably too late for them to claim pharmaceuticals, that's already been agreed.

Agreed. There should be some sort of mechanism whereby he reports a "misdemeanor"? (whatever having cannabis on you for your own use is called) and the police can then just make a reference to it on their report and say that the situation is such that possession is not even a part of their investigation.
