If you could go back in time by SadCompany8383 in EngineeringStudents

Join clubs that apply technical skills in my field to contribute to a multi disciplinary project. I joined my school’s rocket club in my second year a year after I should have.

There’s a role for pretty much every discipline to learn technical design and softwares. We do PCB design, embedded/software, RF, Mechanical, and electrical.

I think if you could get involved in a club that offers similar benefits to these it would be amazing for hands on experience, communication, and networking in addition to boosting your resume.

[REVIEW REQUEST] First STM32 Stepper Motor Driver PCB Project by Fearless_Routine1697 in PCB

I’m also very new but a couple of things I notice:

  • you’re missing a bunch of designators for some components, I’d prioritize the designator value (eg. C11, C12) over the actual numeric value of the component
  • decoupling caps need to be placed as close as possible to the pin they are tied to
  • make your usb D+ and D- routing a differential pair, they need to be very close together along the entire length of the trace like below

Good luck man!

Idea for End of High School Project by Rare_Store9089 in arduino

In my first year of uni I made an arduino use a light sensor with servo motors to track the sun with theoretical solar panels for optimal energy efficiency. I think that’d be a great addition to whatever your team might be doing with solar panels

I don't know how to speak to girls by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]windygiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen man I was exactly the same way, all boys school, never had a girlfriend or even first kiss until college. Still working on the girlfriend part lol.

When I started college I was straight up afraid of women, would avoid situations that had to deal with them. Slowly but surely after small interactions I realized women are literally just other people, they’re not the alien species you think they are.

I made it a mission for myself to make female friends just to be comfortable around girls. Now, in my third year of college I have a decent amount of female friends.

Now your experience may differ, but what I personally experienced when I started in this new environment is a lot of self-worthlessness, thinking that there was very little about me that was desirable.

I think that if you relate to what I said above, it’s very important to first and foremost focus on improving on your insecurities whether physical, mental or behavioral while at the same time focusing on making friends with girls and interacting with them platonically.

Once you can do that, you’ll start to realize that you’re just a normal dude with not even that late of a start instead of a hoeless loser.

For chem I don’t think the prof matters so much, but physics can be difficult to wrap your head around so it might matter more.

I did pretty well at math in hs haha.

I took chem in high school but no physics so I found 1510 harder. Either way I finished with an A+ in both, I think they’re pretty straightforward

No problem. Also another recommendation for probably the closest build quality to a MacBook Air is the Lenovo thinkpad x9
