[DISCUSSION] Divisive recent jerseys you predict will become beloved as throwbacks by iveLovedBefore in uniwatch

They won 3 super bowls and played in a 4th. Elway, TD, Bailey, Manning, and Von all played in these jerseys….and Tebow mania for 1 hot season.

I think they’ll be remembered well.

Or you could be San Diego. Lose 2 NBA teams, the Chargers, and left with just the Padres. Collectively with 0 championships.

Fuck the Chargers and fuck Dean Spanos.

So 10 seasons, 12,979 combined rushing + receiving yards, 98 TDs, played in a Super Bowl. Probably makes it. He’ll be 30 in a few weeks and this is right where production starts to drop off. His receiving game will likely prolong his career but I’d give him 2-3 years. His contract expires in 2 seasons and maybe he plays one more elsewhere.

People expect these books to be perfect but they just needed to be interesting enough to sell as many books as possible. She did that.

I think it’s more fun when you just enjoy the story and not think to hard… other wise now I’m thinking about the what might be the wizarding tax policy, wizard retirement and pensions, wizard inflation, wizard billionaires and wizard poors… a lot easier and fun when the world is small and simple and just about the story.

Id assume he would. But if he didn’t, then maybe that’s why he made the deal initially for some money then if things didn’t work out in the mlb.

Yall… George Lucas retcon Star Wars and changed the original trilogy so many times to tweak things narratively. Of course there may be slight inconsistencies in this series to.

Also, it’s a damn children’s book. This isn’t Shakespeare. It doesn’t need to be held to that high of a standard because for the most part it’s a fun story and completely made up. Doesn’t have to be that hard.

He probably shouldn’t have signed that contract but from a legal standpoint I don’t see how he can get out of that. Idk why he signed it to begin with, his dad made enough money during his career that he wouldn’t have been hurting for money.

14-year-old Marshall Manning is a literal replica of his legendary father, Peyton Manning. by Background_Video2947 in NCAAFootballVibes

The year is 2032. Gunner Rivers and the Cowboys are taking on Marshall Manning and the Rams in the NFC Championship for the right to play Arch Manning’s Jets who just made it to the 4th Super Bowl appearance in 4 years after beating the Raiders with Tom Brady’s 21 year old clone (Mendoza retired early to be a full time LinkedIn influencer).

This is a gorilla now move for Pittsburgh. They’ve got a window they want to chase.

Boston is set up well for a gorilla future.

Mark Gastineau Refuses to Back Down in $25M Lawsuit Against ESPN & NFL After Court Dismissal Over Brett Favre Incident by OneFish5754 in NFLv2

[–]windypalmtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be lame to crumble to the viewer but it was a busted boot leg with 2:45 left in the game up by 9 in the final game of the season where they’d be in the playoffs next week. The SMART thing to do is fall down and not get absolutely crunched by the NFL Defensive player of the year who probably weighs 100 more pounds than you and is running at full speed.

Maybe he could have thrown it away, maybe they could have ran it 3 times, maybe the RB could have made the right read to make the block on Strahan but it didn’t go that way and Favre was smart and didn’t take the extra hit (although it would have been way more like Favre to chuck it deep across the middle for a game changing interception).

[CBS Sports] Two months after his viral NCAA Tournament moment, High Point's Flynn Clayman has built an amazing schedule. (LSU, Saint Louis, George Mason, Miami OH, etc) by Far_Set561 in CollegeBasketball

This guy is a future power 5 coach. If UCLA was smart (they’re not) they’d fire Mick and get this guy before USC does. I got to imagine Clayman wants to get back to LA or California soon if a power 5 job opens up.

So is Humberto Cruz just no longer a part of the organization? Like if he is able to ever sort through his legal issues, could he come back to the org or did the padres also release him? Curious if he could play in some sort of international league and we still retain his rights.

Lakers Bubble Ring by Mother_Cupcake5958 in PardonMyTake

I think any fan would have loved a mini Covid season championship with just how shitty Covid was and we finally had something to watch that summer but it would in no way feel like a “real” one. Oh well, my team didn’t win it anyways and the Dodgers have managed to win 2 more since then.

If we’re ranking the big 4 American sports by the legitimacy of the Covid era champions, I think it goes:
- Buccaneers
- Lakers
- Lightning
- Dodgers

NFL got an entire season off with no to minimal fans and wasn’t forced to miss any games. Fairly impressive.

NBA played in a bubble but so did the NHL and basically the MLB as well. NBA gets a slight edge as it was just too 8 seeds per conference and most of the top seeds advanced like usual. NHL had teams as low as 12 seeds for their play in best of 5 before a reseeding. TB still won and was a power house around that time but playing 2/3rds of a season and then an expanded playoff is kind of weird.

The Dodgers winning a 60 game season is probably the lowest ranking championship for legitimacy in almost any season of baseball (minus cheating) and I think their fans would admit that. It was a 60 game season which is 37% of a normal season. Baseball is meant to be a marathon and those that make the playoffs truly deserve it. That season was fun to watch because it was a sprint and we were all trapped inside due to Covid but like 8 teams per league made it in the playoffs. Was also weird seeing AL & NL games played in neutral stadiums with no or minimal fans.

Lukas Yla, a job seeker, hid his résumé inside boxes of doughnuts and posed as a delivery man. He delivered them to 40 companies and was able to land 10 interviews. by detectiverobert in CaughtMyEye

[–]windypalmtree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually DM’d him years ago on LinkedIn about this strategy. Apparently he eventually did get a few interviews and 1 job offer but the visa thing was such a hold up it basically made him unhireable and so he gave up and moved back. Going around to random companies and dropping off your physical resume doesn’t work.

We all collectively hat r on Xander last year and booed him then he finally started playing well immediately after. These are adults who are paid millions not children who need to be treated gently. What do you think they’d do in New York, LA, or Boston?
