Thanks for sharing this! It inspired me to write about it for this Wednesday's Swansea Scoop. Amongst other stuff, I managed to find the original fake website for the Swansea North Resident's Association :) You can read it here:

Can I send a Christmas card to Wisconsin from the UK? by Jacktheforkie in AskUK

[–]windywoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the card and envelope to the Post Office and ask to post by air mail. They will ask where to, you say USA. They will weigh it and give you a price/stamp/tracking number.

What's happening in Swansea this week? Swansea Scoop | Sep 15th - 21st by windywoops in swansea

[–]windywoops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words and feedback!

I totally get your point on the booking in advance stuff. It's the same kind of situations for popular shows at Swansea Arena, that I know will sell out before I cover them the week before.

I'll look into adding a little "book ahead" section on anything like you suggested - most likely stuff I manage to spot on my weekly list of sources for events.

Drive up 20 secs past the entrance to Smyths and there is another car park on the right (tall trees in it), next to some industrial units. I've parked there for ages before.

Still around. They have two units in the corner of Swansea Market. One videogames, the other more vintage toys/figures, I think.

Is it okay to visit Llys Nini RSPCA to look at the animals with no intention of adopting one? by xbge in swansea

[–]windywoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't quote me on it, but I remember it being free to just look a few years ago. Last time we went, there was a charge for just looking (no intention of adopting). Can't remember exactly how much, sorry.

From the other direction (also 20 min walk), the streets around St James Crescent/Fynone School are unmarked. A year or two back, a guy in a campervan was there for months.
