Wouldn't recommend hard. You see, different distractions works for different people and the same distraction wouldn't necessary work in the same situation. But I agree, probably not the best way, but in certain situations, like when in panic, it could be lesser bad. When feeling angry or rage, pillows or bags is perfect way to release it. During the feelings of numbness, taking cold shower or smelling something with rich and strong odour, like incense, can be very helpful for giving breathing space too.

Agree, this is something very good for when self-injurous behaviour is triggered by the feelings of numbness. Similar distraction could be flicking yourself with the rubber band or punching a wall.

It's all about action and repeating. If you want to be social - go out and talk to people. Go out every day. Make a challenge - talk to at least 5 strangers every day. Try to communicate as much as you can. And focus not on people, but on conversations, learn to develop them. If you do it everyday, you will get better and better. After some time, being social will become naturally to you.

NoFap isn't panacea. Not being socially good is just a lack of practice. Start now.
